라울뒤피의 직물문양에 나타난 예술적 특성

국문 초록

라울뒤피는 20세기 초반 야수파 화가이면서 직물 디자이너로서 많은 활약을 하였다. 그가 1910년부터 약 20년 동안 제작한 직물디자인은 프랑스의 직물시장은 물론 세계적으로 지대한 영향을 끼쳤다. 그의 양식은 화가로서의 자유로운 소재의 발굴과 야수파로서의 강력한 색과 빛이 반영되어 있다. 또한 그는 목판화의 양식을 직물디자인에 반영하여 그만의 새롭고 독특한 양식을 만들어내었다. 이 논문에서는 그의 회화와 판화, 문양디자인의 모티브를 비교 분석하여 그 영향 관계와 문양디자인의 조형적 특성을 연구하였다. 그가 초기에 제작한 판화의 주제와 양식은 문양에 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 그가 판화에 표현한 삶의 모습은 회화적인 문양을 만들어 내게 하였으며 문양에 나타난 긍정적이고 낙천적인 삶의 반영은 그의 예술관이 되었다. 문양에서의 서술적인 모티브와 신화적인 모티브는 그의 회화세계에 영향을 주어 예술세계를 심화하고 확장하는데 큰 역할을 하였다. 그의 문양은 서술적이고 회화적인 특성으로 인하여 사각형의 세트 레이아웃을 사용되었으며 모티브가 밀집된 전면 레이아웃 형태를 띠고 있다. 그의 문양의 형태는 양식화로 단순하고 명료하다. 그는 강렬한 원색을 사용하였고 목판화의 모노톤 효과를 극대화 하였다. 곡선과 직선을 적절하게 조합하고 반복한 구성과 장식적인 아라베스크의 곡선을 사용한 그의 구성은 그의 주제인 경쾌하고 재미있으며 다이나믹하고 리듬감이 있는 삶의 모습을 강조하고 있다.

영문 초록

Raoul Dufy played huge roles as a painter of Fauvism in the beginning of 20th Century and also as a textile designer. The textile Design produced by him for about 20 years since 1910 made great influences on the textile market in France as well as on the world. His style let him discover the free subject material and reflected the strong color and light. Also, he reflected the woodcut style on the textile design and produced his new exclusive style. The purpose of the present study is to compare and analyse the motives of his picture, woodcut and pattern design and then to explain their mutual influence, formative character of the pattern design. The thema and style of woodcut produced by him at the beginning have an great influences on the pattern. He has represented his life shape on the woodcut and it caused the pictorial pattern. Further, his view of art was to reflect affirmative and optimistic life appeared on the pattern. The narrative and mythological motive in the pattern had great influences on his picture world and it played big role in deepening and extending his art world. His pattern with narrative and pictorial character used the set layout of quadrangle and include the form of the tight layout with dense motive. His pattern form is stylized, simple and distinctive. He used strong primitive color and maximized the monotone effect of the woodcut. The composition combining and repeating the curve and the straight line properly and using decorative, arabesque curve stress the life look with cheerful, funny, dynamical and rhythmical characters, which is his subject.
