출판 만화콘텐츠의 뮤지컬화 방안 연구

국문 초록

문화산업의 중요성은 문화예술을 통해 인간의 정서를 움직이고 각 나라의 문화를 자연스럽게 학습하는 데 있다. 21C 들어서 문화산업의 중요성을 인식한 국가 간의 문화전쟁이 시작되면서 한국에서의 뮤지컬은 문화산업 중에서도 가장 장악력이 강한 장르로 부상하고 있다. 2001년 뮤지컬 〈오페라의 유령〉 이후 뮤지컬 시장의 규모가 확대되고 라이센스 뮤지컬 수입이 활발해지면서, 장기 공연의 어려움을 겪은 창작뮤지컬은 자생 하기위해 소극장으로 활로를 모색하고 있는 실정이다. 한편 디지털 기술의 발달로 문화콘텐츠의 매체 전환이 활발히 이루어지는 가운데, 출판 만화콘텐츠가 뮤지컬로 전환 되는 현황에 주목 하였다. 출판 만화콘텐츠가 뮤지컬로 전환된 〈바람의 나라〉와 〈위대한 캣츠비〉의 사례를 통해 성공과 실패를 분석하고, 매체의 특성을 인지하지 못해 전환에 실패한 문제점을 파악하여, 창작뮤지컬의 성공적인 발전 방안을 제시 하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 전환 가능성 있는 원작을 선택하고 드라마와 음악을 중심으로 한 작품을 제작하며, 뮤지컬 전문 인력의 발굴과 스텝간의 협업 등을 제안하고 의견을 도출해 내었다. 2007년 현재 라이센스 뮤지컬의 수입이 대부분 이루어지고, 뮤지컬 전용관의 건립과 스테이지 쿼터제 같은 창작뮤지컬 제작을 위한 외적, 내적 기반이 하나씩 갖춰지고 있는 시점에서 준비해야 될 일은 양질의 콘텐츠를 개발하는 것이다. 그러한 개발을 위해서는 뮤지컬 시장의 정확한 통계와 세분화된 분석이 필요하고, 뮤지컬 관객의 성향을 파악하는 등, 창작뮤지컬의 소재 개발과 함께 뮤지컬 시장의 전반적인 연구도 지속적으로 이뤄져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Cultural business is important so that it can move and educate the people naturally with culture and arts. The musical is emerging as the influential genre in Korea at the time of cultural war among countries, which recognized the importance of cultural business. The market of musical has expanded and licensed musical has been imported actively since the musical 〈Phantom of Opera〉 in 2001. So the creative musical, suffered from long-term performance, is searching the ways to small theaters to stand alone. The cultural contents are adapted actively by media, digital technology developing now. Therefore I concentrated on the current condition of adaption from published comic books to musical. The point of success and failure was analyzed with the case of 〈the Kingdom of Wind〉 and 〈Great Gatsby〉, adapted from comics to musical. And the ways for developing successful creative musical are suggested, researching the problem that they couldn't recognize the characteristic of media. I supposed the ideas of that the original work, able to be adapted, should be chosen, they should produce the work focusing on drama and music in cooperation with staff, and scout the musical experts actively. The most of licensed musical are imported ones now in 2007. And the internal and external elements are being founded to produce creative musical such as the ways of building musical exclusive theater and stage quarter system. It is the necessary one that we should develop good contents. The accurate statistic database and subdivided analysis are necessary so that we can create qualified contents. And the consumer’s disposition and the total musical market should be also researched, with developing material for creative musical.
