羅末麗初期 강원지방 평기와 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 통칭 나말여초(羅末麗初)로 비정되어 왔던 강원지방의 16개소 중요 유적을 대상으로 출토된 평기와의 제작기법과 문양의 구성 형태를 고려하여 분석을 시도하였다. 그 결과, 강원지방에서 출토된 통일신라~고려초기의 기와들은 총 5단계로 시기 구분을 할 수 있었다. 시기구분에서는 평기와의 타날판과 비율 등을 고려하여 시기적 차이를 추정하였으며, 공반된 유물(막새기와 및 토기)과 문헌기록 등을 참조하였다. 시기구분 결과. 1단계(7세기 후반 8세기 중반), 2단계(8세기 중반 8세기 말), 3단계(8세기 말 9세기 중반), 4단계(9세기 중반 10세기 중반), 5단계(10세기 중반 11세기)로 구분되었다. 이중 4단계에서는 장판의 타날판 기와들만이 확인되어 장판타날판의 정형화 시기로 추정되었으며, 5단계에서는 고려기와의 성립기로 판단하였다.

영문 초록

This research aims to investigate into plain roof-tiles excavated from 16 major relics in the Gangwon Province which were manufactured at the end of the Silla Dynasty and at the beginning of the Goryeo Dynasty: into their manufacturing techniques including into the forms and shapes of the patterns, with a focus on the period when they were produced. As a result, it is found that the tiles were classiffied in five stages. The period is divided into 1st stage (the second part of the 7th century~the middle of the 8th century ), 2nd stage (the middle of the 8th century~the end of the 8th century), 3rd stage (the end of the 8th century~the middle of the 9th century), 4th stage (the middle of the 9th century~the middle of the 10th century), and 5th stage (the middle of the 10th century~the 11th century). It is estimated that the 4th stage was when long beating plate tiles were standardized since only such tiles are identified in that stage and that the 5th stage was when Goryeo Dynasty tiles were fully established.
