경기지역 동검 문화의 전개 양상

국문 초록

최근 경기지역에서는 비파형동검과 세형동검을 내는 유구의 조사례가 차츰 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 동검은 한반도 청동기시대와 초기철기시대 구분의 핵심요소로 다양한 접근이 시도된 바 있다. 특히 최근에는 비파형동검기에 해당하는 원형점토띠토기 문화의 요소가 속속 확인됨에 따라 새로운 시대구분안 및 원형점토띠토기 문화의 청동기 갖춤새에 대해서도 재조명이 필요한 시점으로 생각한다. 본 고에서도 이 부분에 초점을 맞추어 경기지역이라는 비교적 협소한 지역을 대상으로 몇 가지 검토를 시도하였다. 비파형동검이 경기지역에 처음 등장하는 것은 광주 역동유적의 검토를 통해 李家堡석관묘~岡上墓 단계에 해당할 것으로 보았으며, 유입창구로서 서해 연안 항로가 주목된다고 보았다. 또한 비파형동검과 석촉의 공반관계를 통해 다시 한 번 한반도 내 비파형동검의 다원적 유입 가능성을 언급하였다. 광주 역동유적의 주체가 유입될 당시의 경기지역 재지문화의 모습은 역삼동식 세장방형ㆍ장방형 집자리 성행기에 해당할 것으로 보았다. 또한 비파형동검 공반여부는 확인되지 않지만 점토띠토기의 유입은 역삼동유형 세장방형 집자리 쇠퇴기부터 관찰된다는 의견을 제시하였다. 따라서 점토띠토기의 상한이 기원전 7세기까지 소급될 가능성이 있다고 보았다. 결과적으로 경기지역에서는 기원전 9세기 전후에 비파형동검이 유입된 후 기원전 7세기 전후부터 점토띠토기가 소수 재지무문토기 문화로 파급되기 시작하였으며 이후 기원전 5세기를 전후하여 비파형동검의 소멸과 세형동검으로의 교체가 이루어지는 것으로 이해된다. 한반도에서는 석검 전통의 재지문화에 청동기의 유입이 이루어지지만 지역에 따른 도래문화의 영향은 차이가 있는 것으로 판단된다. 경기지역의 경우 재지문화의 전통은 강하게 자리잡고 있으면서 청동기를 소유한 도래 문화에 대해 적대적인 관계는 아니었던 것으로 생각된다. 이 점은 소수의 세력이 장기간에 걸쳐 유입되었다고도 해석할 수 있으며 도래문화가 위협적인 형세를 갖추지 못했다고도 추정할 수 있겠다.

영문 초록

IRecently, Violin-shaped bronze daggers and slender daggers have been increasingly shown in the studies of Bronze Age in Gyeonggi Province. As those bronze daggers are a critical factor to tell Bronze Age and Iron Age in Korean peninsula, researchers have taken a variety of approaches to study them. Especially, today, we need to think about a new way of telling Bronze Age and Iron age and to review bronze equipment of round clay-band pottery(jeomtotti-togi) culture because we have been increasingly indentifying some factors of the culture which is included in Violin-shaped bronze dagger period. This article tried to review some major points of Bronze Age in relatively narrow Gyeonggi Province, focusing on the agenda told above. We think that Violin-shaped bronze daggers were firstly introduced to Gyeonggi Province during Leegabo and Gangsang remains period through reviewing yeokdong remains in Gwangju, of Gyeonggi Province, and we suggested that those daggers would be introduced to the Province through the Yellow Sea route. And we indicated the possibility that there could be various routes from which Violin-shaped bronze daggers came to Korea peninsula from reviewing the aspect that both Violin-shaped bronze daggers and flint arrows were discovered during the same period. At the time when the body of Gwangju yeokdong remains was introduced to the province, slender rectangular-shaped and rectangular-shaped pit-houses, which are mainly discovered at Yeoksam dong, seemed prevail in Gyeonggi Province. And although we couldn’t identify whether they were used with Violin-shaped bronze daggers, we suggested that the inflow of clay-band pottery was discovered during the period that slender rectangular-shaped pit-houses, the form of settlement which was well shown at yeoksam dong, began to be phased out. As a result, we thought that the origin of clay-band pottery can be dated back to B.C. 7th century. Consequently, in Gyeonggi Province, since Violin-shaped bronze daggers were introduced around B.C. 9th century, clay-band pottery culture began to influence existing Mumun pottery culture before and after B.C. 7th century and Violin-shaped bronze daggers began to be replaced to slender daggers around B.C. 5th century. So on the Korean peninsula, Bronze Age began to be introduced to the existing stone daggers tradition and the impact of foreign cultures was considered to be different according to each province. In the case of Gyeonggi Province, although it had a strong existing culture, it didn’t have adversary relationship with foreign cultures which had bronze artifacts. This implies that a series of small force of foreign cultures were introduced to the province for a long term period, or those foreign cultures didn’t have a threatening form.
