오웬과 전봉건의 전쟁시 비교 고찰

국문 초록

전쟁시는 전쟁을 주된 내용으로 삼는 시로, 현대에 들어와서야 전쟁의 실체를 사실적으로 표현하는 전쟁시가 출현하였다. 제1차 세계대전에 참전한 영국의 시인 윌프레드 오웬(Wilfred Owen)은 전쟁의 참상에 대한 구체적인 묘사와 더불어 전쟁에 대한 의식적인 부정을 표현하였다. 6.25전쟁기 남북한의 전쟁시가 전쟁을 독려하고 종국에는 각 진영의이데올로기와 체제를 옹호하는 차원에 머물렀다면, 오웬과 전봉건의 시는 직접적인 전쟁 체험을 통해 현장성을 살리고 낡은 정치의식을 극복하면서 전쟁에 반대하는 태도를 보였다. 전봉건은 전쟁에 군인으로 복무하면서 전장의 상황을 묘사하는 시를 썼다는 점에서 오웬의 시와 공통점을 지니며, 기법적으로도 모더니즘의 영향을 받았다는 점에서 상통한다. 다만 전봉건의 전쟁시는 전쟁의 참상을 사실대로 표현하는 방법만을 사용하지 않고, 외적 상황에 대한 시적 화자의 내적 반응으로서의, 감정을 거의 제거한 독백적 진술이나 상황과의 모순적인 대응 태도, 대상과 일정한 거리를 두는 묘사를 통해, 비정하고 폭압적인 전쟁 현장과 위태로운 개인의 모습을 형상화하였다. 그리하여 전봉건의 시가 전쟁에 대한 적극적인 부정성을 띠지 않지만, 내면적 현실을 현장성을 살려 실감 있게 반영함으로써 자연스럽게 전쟁에 반대하는 태도를 취하고 있다.

영문 초록

War poetry deal with the War mainly and in the modern times, it appeared to express facts of war. Wilfred Owen, English poet, participated in the first war and shaped his experience into war poetry. His war poetry has the description of the horrors of war and the negative cognition of war. In his poetry, he manifests the proposition that "The best war poem is the most antiwar poetry." When the 1950's Korean War, most of the war poems published in North Korea were that extolled the hero of war and aroused hatred to encourage war. For these poems have a strong finality, they describe the battle field as a reality and are prominent for an idealogical. As compare with them, South Korea's poems display the individual feeling or humanity. But as Owen's poems, it is hard to seek war poems which have a reality or oppose to war by overcoming the old political awareness. When the war broke out in Korea, Jeon Bon Geon was in the service and wrote the poems described the situation of the war and which is similar to Owen and they have something in common that they were influenced by Modernism for technic. Jeon Bong Geong imaged the oppression of war and dangerous individual by the inner monologue, the abnormal attitude and the description which distance from object rather than expressed the horrors of war realistically. Although his poems did not have the active denial, he make the inner shock and was against to the war by reflecting the reality immaturely.
