국문 초록

카렐 토만의 시집 <삶의 토르소>에는 실존적인 저항의 시들과 더불어 아나키즘 적 사회 혁명을 지향하는 시들도 포함되어 있고 원초적이고 파격적인 사랑을 주제로 하는 시들도 포함되어 있다. 이러한 경향은 그의 다음 시집인 <우수의 여행>에서도 계승되고 있는데, 특히 개인주의에 입각한 자유연애를 가로막는 위선과 도덕주의에 대한 저항의 시들과 체코인들의 종교적 청교도주의와 도덕주의 정신에 대한 도전과 저항의 시들이 두드러진다. 빅토르 디크는 이상과 현실, 희망과 절망과 같은 서로 상충되는 가치들의 충돌로 야기되는 모순과 갈등의 시인으로서 특히 민족적 이상과 현실 사이의 모순에서 발생하는 갈등과 실망을 표현하는 시들이 특징적인데, 그의 초기 삼부작이 이를 잘 반영한다. 디크는 또한 아이러니와 패러독스의 시인이요 풍자와 비꼼의 시인으로서 시집 <풍자와 비꼼>에서는 특히 체코인들의 패배주의와 편협주의를 풍자하고 비판하는 시들이 특징적이다. 그리고 디크의 아나키즘 시의 대표작인 <일곱 도적들의 연인>은 개인의 절대적인 자유에 입각한 낭만주의적 아나키즘의 정신이 돋보인다. 토만과 디크의 아나키즘 시는 사회정의의 실현을 위한 혁명정신을 지지하고, 개인의 절대적 자유에 입각한 자유연애를 추구하며, 인간의 원초적인 욕구와 감성을 억압하는 여하한 도덕주의, 금욕주의, 청교도주의도 거부하고 배척한다는 점은 동일하다. 하지만 토만이 사회적 소외계층이나 빈민층과 함께 하는 바닥 생활의 경험을 바탕으로 사회 하층민들의 저항정신과 원초적인 삶에의 의지를 지지하고 있다고 한다면 디크는 민족적인 불평등과 불공정의 문제에 보다 큰 중점을 두고 있다는 점이 서로 다르다. 그리고 토만이 강한 파토스의 시인이라고 한다면 디크는 풍자와 냉소, 아이러니와 패러독스의 시인이고, 디크의 경우는 특유의 2행연구와 경구적인 시들이 특징적인데 반해 토만의 경우는 도시 민속노래의 색깔이 강하다는 점도 서로 다르다. 하지만 두 사람의 아나키즘 시가 자신들의 문학인생의 시작을 알림과 동시에 자신들의 대표작뿐만 아니라 현대 체코 시의 대표작들의 산출에 밑거름을 제공하고 있다는 점에서, 그리고 1920년대를 전후한 체코 아방가르드 시 운동, 특히 체코 프롤레타리아 시 운동에 단초를 제공하고 있다는 점에서 문학사적인 의미가 작지 않다.

영문 초록

Many poems of Karel Toman's second collection The Torso of Life (Torzo života) are oriented toward the objection and resistance to the existing social orders as well as toward the unconventional instinctive love. His third collection Melancholic Pilgrimage (Melankolická pouť) maintains the spirit of the former collection. However this collection also includes poems of resistance against the moralistic hypocrisy and religious puritanism opposing the free love. Viktor Dyk is a poet of conflict and contradict caused by discrepancies between the ideal and reality, ambition and disillusion, particularly in the context of Czech nationalism. His early trilogy well represents this kind of poetry. Dyk is a poet of satire and sarcasm, irony and paradox as well, which is well reflected in the collection Satires and Sarcasms (Satiry a sarkasmy). In this collection he attacks the Czech nation's narrow- mindedness, feeble-mindedness, compromising attitude, and servile spirit by means of satire and sarcasm. And the collection The Mistress of Seven Rebels (Milá sedmi loupežníků), a ballad-like poetry or poetry with a story (básnická povídka), is characteristic of its heros' and heroin's anarchistic romanticism with their strong individualism and free love. Both Toman's and Dyk's anarchist poetry is oriented toward the rejection of the previous decadence and symbolism, the revolutionary movement aiming at the realization of the social justice, and the spirit of free love strengthened by the individualism. Both are common in their emphasis on the concrete description of the reality based on their real life experiences. However they are different in that Toman has more been oriented toward the existential problem of life, the social resistance, and the free love based on the human being's instinct whileas Dyk has more emphasized the nationalistic problem which can be solved by the elimination of the national discrimination. It is significant that both poets' anarchist poetry has provided the basis for the outstanding work of Czech modern poetry and also has contributed to the development of the Czech avant-garde poetry, particularly the Czech proletarian poetry after the First World War.
