新羅 中古期 里坊制의 受容과 王京의 中心軸線

국문 초록

지금까지 신라 왕경과 관련한 여러 연구성과들이 축적되었음에도 불구하고 여전히 논란거리인 부분이 적지 않다. 신라 왕경에 里坊制가 언제 수용되었는가 하는 점도 그 중 하나이다.이방제는 신라 왕경의 기본적인 골격과 관련되어 있을 뿐만 아니라, 이방제의 수용 시기를 언제로 보느냐에 따라 그것의 수용 배경이나 수용 경로 등은 달라질 수 밖에 없다. 그렇기 때문에신라 왕경을 연구하는 데 있어 이방제의 수용 시기는 반드시 짚고 넘어가야 할 중요한 문제라고 할 수 있다. 이 글에서는 신라 왕경에 이방제가 수용된 시기를 밝히는 데 초점을 두었다.우선 신라 중고기의 고분이 이전 시기와 달리 경주 외곽지역에 축조되기 시작하는 점에 주목하고, 이를 이방제의 수용에 따른 왕경 정비를 위한 준비작업과 관련지어 이해하였다. 아울러고대 일본에서 율령의 수용과 이방제의 시행이 연관되어 있었던 점에 비추어, 이방제가 신라왕경에 수용되는 시기는 신라에서 율령이 반포되는 520년까지 소급시킬 수 있다고 보았다. 이어서 도성을 정비하기 위해서는 일반적으로 도성의 중심축선을 정하는 작업이 가장 먼저 이루어진다는 점에 착안하여 신라 왕경의 중심축선에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 그 결과 신라 왕경의 동서를 관통하는 선은 황룡사의 남문 앞을 통과하는 동시에 흥륜사의 남문 앞을 지나가는 것으로 확인되었다. 그런데 흥륜사는 527년부터 건립되기 시작하였으므로, 신라 왕경의 동서를 관통하는 중심축선은 이미 그 이전에 정해져 있었다고 할 수 있다. 이는 이방제의 수용 시기를520년까지 올려볼 수 있음을 뒷받침해 주는 것이기도 하다. 결국 신라에서는 율령의 반포와 궤를 같이하면서 이방제가 수용되었고, 그 이후에는 중심축 선을 정하는 등 왕경을 이방으로 구획하기 위한 작업이 진행되었던 것이다.

영문 초록

Until now, although there have been notable achievement in studies on Capital city Silla, these studies were still in controversy. One of these controversies is period when Administrative district system of Ri-bang was adopted in Capital city Silla. Administrative district system of Ri-bang has relevance to framework of Silla capital and backgrounds of Administrative district system of Ri-bang and process of Administrative district system of Ri-bang can be changed according to the period of embracement of Administrative district system of Ri-bang. Thus the study on the period of embracement of Administrative district system of Ri-bang needs to be addressed in the research of Silla Capital city. This study lays emphasis on defining the period of embracement of administrative district system of Ri-bang. First, this study focuses on the fact that the middle years of the silla tomb, started to construct in the outside of Gyeongju which is different from previous period.From this, I understand that this fact is related to the ground work of modification of the Capital city according to the embracement of Administrative district system of Ri-bang. Also, deduced from the fact that the embracement of Administrative district system of Ri-bang in ancient Japan was related to embracement of the Yul-Ryeong Statute(the law code), the adoption-period of Administrative district system of Ri-bang can be retroactive in 520, which is the time, Yul-Ryeong Statute was proclaimed. In addition, according to the fact that the setting of the central axis of the capital city was formed preferentially, this study looks into pivot-line of the Silla capital city. Therefore, it is verified that the pivot-line of the east to west goes through not only south gate of Hwangyongsa Temple but south gate of Heungyunsa Temple. However Heungyunsa Temple was started to build in 527, the central axis of the capital city was already arranged before that period. This fact supports the fact that the adoption time of Administrative district system of Ri-bang can be retroactive up to 520. Eventually, Administrative district system of Ri-bang was adopted with the proclamation of Yul-Ryeong Statute, then the sectionalizing -fix the pivot-line of the capital city- was started to divide Administrative district system of Ri-bang.
