국문 초록

이 글에서는 박태원의 <구인회> 시절 문학 활동에 대해 그 시발과 경과 과정을 살펴보고, 같은 <구인회>의 구성원이자 개인적으로 특별히 친밀한 사이였던 이상(李箱)과의 관계에 대해 고찰해 보려한다. 이 대목이 박태원 문학 연구에 있어 중요한 위치를 차지하는 것은, 그 당시 <구인회> 활동이 박태원의 창작 심리에 큰 영향을 미쳤을 뿐만 아니라 실제로 이상을 소재로 한 소설이 여러 편 있기까지 한 데 비추어 당연한 일이라고 할 수 있다. 특히, 이상과의 관계는 ｢소설가 구보씨의 일일｣이란 작품이 패러디되어 문학사적으로 전개되는 동안에도 계속해서 주제 및 소재상의 쟁점으로 남아 있게 된다. 박태원과 이상은 현대 예술에 대한 강렬한 욕구와 실험정신, 전위성 등에 있어서 선구적이라는 공통점을 지니고 있다. 동시에 둘 다 서울 태생으로 스스로 천재라고 생각하면서, 현실에 다소 지각하였다거나 그렇지 않으면 현실이 그보다 몇 시간 뒤떨어졌다고 믿으면서 새로운 문학세대로 자처하였다. 이들은 문학이 감당할 수 있는 한 가능한 모든 실험적인 기법을 적극적으로 시도함으로써 문학영역의 심화와 확대에 크게 기여하려 했다.

영문 초록

This essay will examine the start and the process of the literary service of Park Tae-woon while working for the “Associationof the Nine People (Guin-hoi).” It will also focus on his relationship to Lee Sang who was another member of this literary club and personally close to Park Tae- woon. This part plays an important role in Park Tae-woon’s literary study. The reason for this lies in his service for the club, which had a tremen- dous influence on Park Tae-woon’s literary world. In fact, there are quite a few novels written about Lee Sang. His relationship to Lee Sang has especially been the main theme and source of his work while “The Day of A Writer, Mr. Gubo” was written over several times as a parody. Park Tae-woon and Lee Sang share similarities as a precursor for having a strong desire for contemporary art, experimental attitude, and advanced idea. Both were born in Seoul, believed themself to be a genius, and thought that the reality of life had been backward, which allowed them to be a new literary generation. They tried almost every possible experimental technique that literature could afford and tried to achieve deepening and enlargement in literary field.
