영문 초록

  The aim of the present thesis is to demonstrate that Kim Ji-ha"s poetry written around from the year 1980 onward and his poetic mind start from and end in the main issues of "healing" in humans, societies, civilizations, the earth and so on, clarifying what he suggests as the substantial principle and way of healing is based on his belief in the theory of the Yin and Yang and Five Elements. Together with this, what signification those views are believed to hold has been examined from a variety of perspectives.
  What Kim Ji-ha suggests as the principle and way of healing is a spiritual view of world about life and such world views as of pluralist monism, dynamic homeostasis, becoming of difference and correspondence of the Yitaegeuk and Samtaegeuk. These are all founded on the theory of the Yin and Yang and Five Elements. This is also what Kim Ji-ha has studied from Donghak, which suggests so called a world of "Mu-Wui-Yi-Wha" to which humans adjust to reach virtue.
  Those of Kim Ji-ha"s study has such significance as follows.
  First, Kim Ji-ha raises the status of poetry into a matter of life, that is, "healing of being", beyond just a matter of "art" or "technique."
  Second, he advances a matter of healing from the dimension of perception of the elemental, local and analytical to that of insight into the fundamental logic of the universe, extending and intensifying the latter.
  Third, as a way of overcoming the contradictions and limitations in general of the modem in terms of its view of the world and the reality itself, he has attempted to research into ways of healing, employing ideas from the Oriental, particularly from the classics and ancients focused on the history of the Korean. His attitudes, however, are not exclusive nor nationalistic.
  Fourth, as to the matter of healing of being and life, he does not claim any simplistic view of the world cycling or passive view of future but only presents a view of world of becoming and thereby its evolving creatively, qualitatively and expansively.
  Fifth, he is concerned with a more fundamental and comprehensive ecological movement of life called healing, not with a kind of limited ones involved in environmental campaigns of antipollution and conservation of nature.
  Sixth, the way of healing that he promotes dreaming of the newborn human being, civilization, society and earth, remains to be found in terms of its application and practice in the context of the actual reality. However, as a form of grand narratives, it is a principal thought and view of value, opening a window into the post-modern era of the 21st century.
  Not a little is expected from which direction Kim Ji-ha"s ongoing research into healing will move in and be developed further from now onward.
