다르마끼르띠의 존재와 인식의 본질에 관한 고찰

국문 초록

  다르마끼르띠(법칭,600-660)는 7세기 인도불교 사상가이다. 그는 ‘경량부의 인과적 인식론’과 ‘디그나가의 논리학’을 근거로 불교 인식논리학을 체계화한다.
  다르마끼르띠는 현실적 존재의 본질은 찰나멸성이며 인과적 효과성이라고 주장한다. 현실적 존재는 두 가지 존재 양상을 지닌다. 하나는 독자상이며, 또 하나는 공통상이다.
  쁘라마나는 현실적 존재에 의해 생기한다. 쁘라마나는 타당한 인식을 의미한다. 타당한 인식은 지각과 추리로 구성된다. 지각은 독자상에 의해 생기하며, 추리는 공통상에 의해 생기한다.
  그런데 타당한 인식은 정합적 인식이며 또한 미지의 대상을 드러내는 인식이기도 하다. 이러한 설명에 따르면 이 두 가지 측면 즉 진리와 새로움은 인식의 타당성을 위한 필요·충분조건이다. 새로움은 현실적 존재와 인식의 찰나멸성에 의해서 창출되는 것이다.

영문 초록

  Dhrmak？rti(法稱,600-660) is Buddhist Thinker of India in 7th Century. He systemizes the epistemological Logics of Buddhism on the background ‘causal epistemology of Sautr？ntika’ and ‘Logics of Dign？ga.’
  Dhrmak？rti insists that the essence of Actual entity(vastu) is momentariness(k？a？ikatva) and causal efficacy(arthakriy？k？ritva). Actual entity have two modes of existence. The one is the particular(svalak？a？a). The other is the universal(s？m？nyalak？a？a).
  Pram？？a is occurred by the Actual entity. Pram？？a can also mean valid cognition. Valid cognition is constituted by perception and inference. Perception is originated by the particular, and Inference is originated by the universal.
  By the way, Valid cognition is cognition of nondeceptiveness, Or valid cognition is the revealing of a yet unknown thing. According to this account, these two aspect, truth and novelty, arenecessary and sufficient conditions for a cognition to be valid. Novelty is created by the momentariness of Actual entity and cognition.
