국문 초록

본 연구는 인터넷 도박중독 청소년들이 경험하는 2차 범죄와 이에 대한 결과, 과정 그리고 유형을 확인하는데 있다. 연구목적에 따라 세평적 사례선택과 눈덩이 표집을 통해 도박중독 위험수준 이상에 해당하는 13~18세 청소년 연구참여자들을 모집하였다. 수집된 자료는 Strauss와 Corbin(1990; 1998)이 제안한 근거이론 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 인터넷 도박중독 청소년들의 2차 범죄 경험 속에서 총 11개의 개념과 29개의 하위범주가 도출되었다. 축코딩 패러다임 모형을 통해 각각의 개념 간의 관계를 파악할 수 있었으며 선택코딩을 통해 ‘도박 행동과 좌절감에서 기인된 2차 범죄의 악순환’ 핵심범주를 상정하였다. 또한 연구참여자들의 경험을 바탕으로 유형분석을 진행하여 3가지 유형(충동 조절 실패형, 도박 및 범행자금 마련형, 도박 범죄 조직 연루형)으로 상정할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 연구자들은 치료현장, 단도박 모임(GA), 학교사회복지의 개입 등에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify the secondary offenses experienced by adolescents with internet gambling addiction, along with their consequences, processes, and types. Guided by the research objective, purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques were employed to recruit participants aged 13 to 18 who demonstrated an elevated risk level for gambling addiction. The collected data were analyzed using the grounded theory methodology proposed by Strauss and Corbin (1990; 1998). The analysis yielded a total of 12 concepts and 30 subcategories within the lived experiences of secondary offenses among adolescents with internet gambling addiction. Axial coding, utilizing the paradigm model, revealed the relationships between these concepts. Selective coding culminated in the identification of the core category: ‘a vicious cycle of secondary offenses arising from gambling behavior and frustration’. Furthermore, based on the participants’ experiences, a typology was developed, delineating three distinct types. Based on these findings, the researchers discuss implications for intervention strategies aimed at addressing secondary offenses among adolescents with internet gambling addiction. Based on these findings, the researchers discussed implications for therapeutic settings, Gamblers Anonymous (GA) meetings, and interventions in school social work.
