국문 초록

본 연구는 미군정 체제 하에서의 『자유신문』의 사설 내용을 분석한 내용이다. 『자유신문』은 해방 초기 미군정 체제 신탁통치에 거부감을 느껴 제 3 국 소련의 개입으로 자주 정권을 수립하고 민족 독립을 이루기를 소망했다. 그러나 전 사회적으로 미군정 체제의 한국 사회에 대한 통제 조치가 강화되고, 소련의 극동정책에 대한 실망감이 커지면서, 『자유신문』도 민족 독립을 위해서는 미국식 부르주아 공화국을 건설하는 것이 최선의 선택임을 자각하였다. 미군정 중후반기에 『자유신문』의 논조는 미국 우익 사상에 대한 긍정적 인식으로 전환되기 시작했다. 『자유신문』은 후신이 있는 신문도 아니라서 심도 있는 연구를 진행하기에는 제약이 있는데, 『자유신문』에 대한 연구를 새롭게 진행되었다는 점에 의미를 두고 싶다. 본 연구는 역사학을 기반으로 통계 기법을 활용하여 사설 분석을 시도하였는데, 신문자료는 내용이 방대하고, 내용 파악에도 시간이 걸려 통계화 작업이 쉽지만은 않았다.

영문 초록

This paper is a study that analyzed the editorial contents of the Free Newspaper during the US-USSR MG. The executives of the Free Newspaper had many people with middle-class tendencies. It was also a newspaper divided into an intermediate or left-wing newspaper by the USMG. It is also true that not much research has been conducted because the Free Newspaper is not a newspaper with a successor. In that respect, I think it is desirable that the research on the Free Newspaper has been newly conducted. Furthermore, this study is significant in that it conducted an editorial analysis using statistics that are difficult to see in history. This attempt is likely to be meaningful in that it is difficult to statistically because the amount of newspaper data is large and it takes time to grasp the contents. At first, he felt rejected by the trusteeship of the USMG, so he tried to regain the government through the intervention of a third country, the Soviet Union, and achieve national independence. However, as the USMG 's control measures in Korea were strengthened and the Soviet Union's Far East policy grew disappointed, the Free Newspaper realized that building an American-style bourgeois republic for national independence was the best option. For this reason, the tone of the Free Newspaper began to be positively recognized for right-wing ideas, including the US, until the mid-to-late US-USSR Army MG.
