사회과 교과서 연구의 동향과 과제 -시기별 과목군별 연구 영역을 중심으로-

국문 초록

본 연구는 사회과 교과서 연구의 동향과 문제점을 분석하고, 미진한 연구 영역을 파악하여 향후 연구 방향을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 초·중등학교 사회과교육 연구물을 게재하는 주요 학술지 5종에서 교과서를 다룬 논문 578편을 추출하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 사회과 교과서 연구에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 사회적 사상(事象)과 외국 교과서에 대한 분석이 활발하게 이루어지고 있었다. 또한, 교과서 개발 및 재구성에 관한 연구가 많지만, 내용 구성 원리에 대한 이론적·경험적 연구가 부족해 개선이 요구된다. 더불어 AIDT(AI 디지털 교과서)의 활용과 인식 변화에 대한 연구도 강화되어야 한다. 교과서 비교 연구에서는 시계열적 분석이 미흡해 이를 보완할 필요가 있다. 아울러, 외국 교과서 연구는 일본과 중국에 집중되어 있어 독일 등 다양한 국가로 확대할 필요가 있으며, 읽기 자료, 그래프, 인포그래픽, 탐구활동, 삽화 등에 대한 분석적 연구도 강화할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the trends and issues in social studies textbook research, identify underexplored research areas, and propose future research directions. To achieve this, 578 papers published in five major academic journals focusing on social studies education in primary and secondary schools were analyzed. The research results indicate that interest in social studies textbooks is increasing, and analysis on social phenomena and foreign textbooks is being actively conducted. Although there are considerable researches on textbook development and reconstruction, there is a lack of theoretical and empirical studies on the principles of content organization, which calls for improvement. Additionally, research on the use and changing perceptions of AIDT(AI Digital Textbook) needs to be strengthened. In comparative studies of textbooks, the lack of longitudinal analysis suggests a need for supplementation. Moreover, while research on foreign textbooks is concentrated on Japan and China, it should be expanded to include various countries such as Germany, and there is a need to strengthen research on reading materials, graphs, infographics, inquiry activities, and illustrations.
