국문 초록

‘기후정의(climate justice)’는 기후변화로 인한 부정의와 불균등에 관심을 두는 접근법으로 기후변화 문제를 ‘사회적으로 만들어진 현상’으로 바라본다. 나아가 기후변화 대응 방법 측면에서 ‘기후변화 적응’을 고려한다. 이 연구의 목적은 이러한 기후정의 관점을 바탕으로 초등학교 기후정의 교육의 내용 요소 구성 사례를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저, 환경부 선정 우수환경 도서 중 『탄소 중립이 뭐예요?』를 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 이어서 도서에서 기후정의 관련 내용을 추출하고 원인, 현상‧영향, 대응 범주로 나누었다. 다음으로, 각 범주별 핵심어를 기반으로 핵심개념(온실가스 배출량, 취약성, 기후불의, 기후정의, 차별화된 책임)을 선정하였다. 끝으로, 핵심개념에 포함된 내용을 종합하여 구체적인 내용 요소를 선정하고 초등학교 기후정의 교육의 내용을 ‘범주-핵심개념-내용 요소’의 틀로 구조화하였다. 이 연구를 통해 초등학교 기후정의 교육에서 다루어야 할 핵심개념 및 구체적인 교육 내용을 파악할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 실제적인 교육 실천을 위한 초석을 놓을 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

“Climate justice” is an approach that focuses on the injustices and inequalities caused by climate change, viewing the issue as a socially constructed phenomenon. It also considers ‘climate change adaptation’ as a method of response to climate change. This study presents the content elements for climate justice education in elementary schools based on the climate justice perspective. The structure of study is as follows: First, the study selected What is Carbon Neutrality? from the Ministry of Environment's list of excellent environmental books as the research subject. Then, it extracted the climate justice-related content from the book and categorized it into causes, phenomena/impacts, and responses. Next, key concepts (greenhouse gas emissions, vulnerability, climate injustice, climate justice, differentiated responsibility) were selected based on key terms in each category. Finally, by synthesizing the content included in key concepts, the study identified specific content elements and structured the climate justice education for elementary schools into a ‘category-key concept-content element’ framework. This study aims to identify the key concepts and specific educational content that should be included in elementary school climate justice education. By establishing concrete and systematic guidelines for the practice of climate justice education in elementary schools, this study will lay the foundation for its implementation.
