장애유형에 따른 장애인 평생교육에 대한 인식 및 요구

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 장애유형에 따른 장애인 평생교육에 대한 인식 및 요구를 분석하여 장애인 평생교육 활성화 방안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 장애인의 평생교육에 대한 인식 및 요구를 알아보기 위해 면담을 통해 자료를 확보하였다. 자료수집을 위해서 연구참여자는 장애유형을 신체적 장애와 발달장애로 구분하여 총 8명을 선정하였고, 심층면담은 연구참여자의 편의를 고려하여 비대면으로 2회 진행되었다. 연구결과: 대주제 5개와 하위주제 20개가 도출되었다(공통된 인식 9개, 신체적 장애 7개, 발달장애 4개). 신체적 장애는 원하는 평생교육이 예산 때문에 개설되지 못하거나 관련 전문가가 부족하고, 평생교육에 참여해도 미래가 불투명하다고 하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 직업과 연계된 평생교육 프로그램을 통해 삶의 질이 향상되고, 평생교육이 권리로서 보장되기를 기대하였다. 발달장애인은 평생교육을 통한 배움이 실생활로 확장되는 경험을 하였고, 학습 속에서 나누는 삶을 살아가고 싶으며, 평생교육기관이 돌봄 기관이 아닌 교육기관으로서 역할을 해주기를 희망하였다. 제언: 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 장애유형을 고려하여 평생교육의 정책적 시사점을 논의한 결과, 국가 수준의 장애인 평생교육 활성화를 위해서는 충분한 예산을 확보하고 관련 법률을 제·개정할 필요가 있다고 제안하였다.

영문 초록

purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the awareness and demands for lifelong education for the disabled according to the type of disability and suggest ways to revitalize lifelong education for the disabled. Method: To collect data for this study, a total of 8 research participants were selected by dividing the types of disabilities into physical disabilities and developmental disabilities, and in-depth interviews were conducted twice non-face-to-face considering the convenience of the research participants. Intervieews were conducted to find out the awareness and needs of people with disabilities for lifelong education. Results: Five major themes and 20 sub-themes were derived (9 common perceptions, 7 physical disabilities, 4 developmental disabilities). In the case of physical disabilities, the desired lifelong education cannot be opened due to budget or there is a lack of relevant experts, and even if they participate in lifelong education, their future is uncertain. Nevertheless, it was hope d that the quality of life would improve through lifelong education programs linked to jobs and that lifelong education would be guaranteed as a right. People with developmental disabilities experienced the expansion of learning through lifelong education into real life, wanted to live a life of sharing through learning, and hoped that lifelong education institutions would serve as educational institutions rather than care institutions. Conclusion: Based on these research results and discussing the policy implications of lifelong education considering the type of disability, it was suggested that it is necessary to secure sufficient budget and enact and amend related laws in order to promote lifelong education for the disabled at the national level.
