반응 탐구 감상 모형 제안: Geahigan의 감상 방법을 중심으로

국문 초록

그동안 우리 미술과 교육과정에서 감상 교육은 그 중요성과 필요성이 점진적으로 확대되어왔다. 그 과정에서 감상 교육의 방향성도 변화하고 여러 감상 방법이 제안되었다. 일반적으로 미술 감상은 미술작품과 작가에 대한 지식을 바탕으로 하는 활동으로 인식되어 감상 수업 또한 관련 지식을 학습하는 방식으로 진행되기도 하였다. 하지만 최근의 교육과정 수정의 방향성은 감상자의 주관적인 관점과 해석의 가능성을 점점 더 많이 수용하고 확대하는 쪽으로 진행되고 있다. 특히 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정에서는 미술 감상에 있어 학생의 주관적인 이해와 해석을 강조하기 위해 교사가 질문하며 감상하는 방식에서 벗어나 학생 스스로 작품에 대해 질문하며 감상을 주도적으로 할 수 있도록 제시하였다. 하지만 이러한 감상 교육 변화의 흐름에도 불구하고 현재 학교 교육 현장에서는 아직도 감상 교육의 비중이 적거나 감상 수업이 이루어지더라도 학생들의 다양한 관점과 해석을 수용하는 감상은 잘 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 이러한 문제의 원인 중 하나로 현장에서 쉽게 적용할 수 있는, 특히 감상자의 반응을 풍부하게 탐색하고 그것을 바탕으로 의미 있는 감상 활동으로 이끄는 감상 교육의 방법론이 부재하다는 점이 지적되기도 하였다. 이에 본 연구는 현재 미술 감상 교육의 동향을 살피고 여러 감상 교육 모형 중 Geahigan의 감상 방법을 바탕으로 감상자의 반응을 좀 더 풍부하게 탐색할 수 있도록 수정하여 제안하였다.

영문 초록

In the meantime, the importance and necessity of appreciation education in our art curriculum has gradually expanded, and in the process, the direction of appreciation education has been revised and various appreciation methods have been proposed accordingly. In general, art appreciation is recognized as an activity based on knowledge about artworks and artists, and appreciation classes were also conducted as a way to learn related knowledge. However, the direction of recent curriculum revisions is toward increasingly accepting and expanding the possibility of viewers' subjective viewpoints and interpretations. In particular, in the 2022 revised art curriculum, in order to emphasize students' subjective understanding and interpretation when appreciating art, it was proposed to move away from the teacher-led questioning and appreciating method and allow students to ask questions about the work themselves and take the lead in appreciating the work. However, despite this trend of change in appreciation education, the proportion of appreciation education in current school education is still small, or even if appreciation classes are conducted, appreciation that accommodates students' diverse perspectives and interpretations is not well achieved. One of the reasons for the gap between changes in curriculum and appreciation theory and our educational field is the absence of an appreciation education model that can be easily applied in the field, and in particular, rich exploration of appreciator responses and meaningful appreciation based on that. Aware of the problem of the absence of an appreciation education model that leads to activity, this study examined the current trends in art appreciation education and modified Geahigan's appreciation method among several appreciation education models to allow for a richer exploration of appreciators' responses suggested.
