국문 초록

본 연구는 미술 중심 융합교육에 있어 생성형 AI의 선택과 활용 방법, 학습에서의 효과 및 가능성의 제시를 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 생성형 AI를 활용한 미술 중심 융합교육 프로그램을 개발하고 실행하며 그 과정에서의 교수·학습 경험을 관찰, 조사하는 연구를 진행했다. 교육 프로그램은 미술 활동을 중심으로 과학 영역을 융합한내용으로 미술 표현 활동의 구상 단계에서 텍스트 투 이미지(text-to-image) 생성 AI 서비스를 사용했다. 교육은 해남지역 초등학교 3∼6학년 학생 38명을 대상으로 실행되었으며, 설문 조사 분석 및 연구자이자 교수자의 관찰과 정성적 평가를 진행했다. 그 결과, 미술 중심 융합교육 프로그램에 있어 생성형 AI의 활용은 학습자의 미술 표현 활동에 있어 생각과 느낌의 시각화와 미술 재료나 도구를 사용하지 않고 결과물을 만들 수 있다는 점에서 도움이 되었다. 또한 생성형 AI를 활용하지 않은 수업과 비교해 결과물의 표현에 있어 세부 묘사와 다양성이 향상된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 예술과 과학기술의 융합교육 프로그램이 현장에서 효과적으로 적용되기 위해서는 빠르게 변화하는 기술에 대응할 수 있어야 하며, 평가와 개선이 유기적으로 이루어져야 한다. 이를 위해 이론적 배경이 되는 연구와 그 실현이라 할 수 있는 교육의 실행이 병행될 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 향후 이러한 선순환 구조의 시작점으로서 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This research aims to explore the effectiveness and potential learning outcomes of incorporating generative AI into an art-centered integrated education program. An art-centered integrated education program was developed, incorporating a generative AI tool. The program was implemented with elementary students, and the teaching and learning process was observed, alongside participant surveys. The education program featured art-focused activities infused with scientific content, utilizing the text-to-image generative AI service during the design phase of students’ art classes. The program was conducted with a sample of 38 elementary school students (grades 3 to 6) in the Haenam region. Qualitative evaluations were performed using survey data from the students and participant observations as a teacher and researcher. Findings indicate that incorporating generative AI into an art-centered integrated education program allowed students to easily visualize their thoughts and feelings without traditional art materials or tools. Moreover, when compared to classes not utilizing the generative AI-based program, students who used the AI exhibited greater intricacy and diversity in their artistic expressions. To effectively implement an integrated educational program of art and science in educational settings requires adapting to rapidly evolving technologies and continuously evaluating and refining practices based on field experience. Bringing theoretical research with practical implementation is crucial in achieving this goal. This research contributes to advancing the iterative cycle of research and practice in educational contexts.
