기층한자어 음운현상 연구 -朱熹의 四書集註 출현 한자어를 대상으로-

국문 초록

한자어를 ‘한문, 국한문혼용, 국문’에 사용된 적층구조로 봐야 할 필요성을 토대로 한문 기원 한자어 연구방법을 설계하고, 朱熹의 四書集註에서 조사한 2음절 이상 한자어를 대상으로 음운현상 전반에 대한 종합적 고찰 및 어휘별 분석을 하였다. 그 결과 1) ‘역행적 유음화, ㄹ비음화, ㄹ두음법칙’의 동인은 탄설음의 분포제약에 있고, 경음화를 유발하는 종성 ‘ㄹ’은 ‘ㅭ[lˀ]’로 소급된다. [ɾ], [lˀ]로 인한 이들 음운현상은 모두 어두이거나 1+1음절 경계에서 적용되었고, 기층한자어에서 시작·정착된 것이다. 2) 경음화3과 ㄴ첨가는 상층한자어에서 시작된 현상으로 추정된다. 3음절어가 1.26%에 불과했고 해당 음운현상 출현율도 2.41%였다. 경음화3은 ‘-性, -的’처럼 기층한자어 대비 의미 및 조어법 변화를 동반한 신조어에서 시작하여 복합어 후행 요소의 발음형을 통일하는 방향으로 소급 확산되었다. ㄴ첨가는 ‘공명자음+j’라는 음운 조건만 충족되면 ㄴ첨가된 발음이 통용 가능하다.

영문 초록

In this study I attempted to investigate the phonological phenomena of modern Sino-Korean words originated from Hanmun and establish its principles. I selected the annotations of the Four Books by Zhu Xi as research materials. I discussed the necessity and legitimacy of classification based on the writing style of Sino-Korean words, and conducted a comprehensive review of the overall phonological phenomenon and lexical analysis. As a result, 1) the driving force behind ‘regressive lateralization, ㄹnasalization, and ㄹinitial law’ is the distribution constraint of the [ɾ], which is also present in native words. 2) Glottalization after ㄹ, Saitsori and ㄴinsertion are all additional phenomena of [ˀ]. 3) Saitsori of Sino-Korean words is a complex phenomenon involving writing style, morphology, phonetics, and phonology. The pronunciation relating ‘-性, -的, 沒-' also showed a difference between basic and upper-class Sino-Korean words. It is possible to use the pronunciation of the ㄴinsertion as long as the phonological conditions are satisfied, regardless of the stylistic or morphological conditions. In this respect, it is judged that the two phenomena have been applied retrospectively starting from the upper Sino-Korean words. 4) In principle base Sino-Korean words are two-syllable words, three-syllable words accounted for only 1.26%.
