포스트모더니즘 관점에서의 유아 동시 활동의 이해: 5세 솔솔반을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교육기관에서 행해진 동시 활동 속에서 포스트모더니즘 특성을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 공립유치원 5세 솔솔반 학급의 유아 12명과 담임교사 1명을 연구대상으로 설정하였다. 자료는 총 10회의 참여관찰을 통해 수집하였으며, 유아와 교사가 학급에서 동시를 경험하고 창작하는 사례를 수집하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아의 동시 활동 속에 포스트모더니즘의 특성인 재미와 유희가 나타났다. 유아들은 동시를 활용해 다양한 변주와 패러디를 반복하며 유희적 요소를 즐기는 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 유아의 동시 활동 속에 포스트모더니즘의 특성인 감성이 나타났다. 유아들은 동시 속에서 아름다움을 발견하고 감상을 공유하는 모습을 보였다. 셋째, 유아의 동시 활동 속에 포스트모더니즘의 특성인 개별적인 서사가 나타났다. 유아들은 일상과 놀이 그리고 활동 속에서 동시에 대한 감상을 자유롭게 나누고 창작하며 각자의 소담론을 형성해 나갔다. 본 연구의 결과는 유아의 생생한 이야기와 다양한 감성을 표출할 수 있도록 포스트모더니즘 관점을 기반으로 한 동시 활동을 교육현장에서 적극적으로 실시하는 것이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the postmodern characteristics of children's poetry activities in kin-dergarten. For the purpose, we conducted 10 participant observations with 12 5-year-old children and one teacher at a public kindergarten, and collected cases of how children and a teacher routinely experienced and created poetry in classroom. The results of the study are as follows: First, a sense of amusement and playfulness emerged in children's poetry activities. The children seemed to enjoy the playfulness of the poems, repeating variations and parodies of the poems. Second, sensibility emerged in the children's poetry. Children found beauty in poetry and shared their appreciation. Third, individual narratives emerged in the children's poetry activities. Children freely shared and created their impressions of poetry in everyday life, play, and activities, forming their own narratives. The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to actively implement poetry activities from the postmodern perspectives in educational settings so that children can express their vivid stories and diverse emotions.
