중학생이 인식한 부모양육태도가 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향:공동체의식과 학교생활적응의 직렬매개효과 및 성차 비교

국문 초록

본 연구는 중학생이 인식한 부모의 양육태도가 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향과 그 과정에서 공동체의식과 학교생활적응의 직렬매개효과 및 성별 차이를 통해 청소년의 복지향상에 주는 함의를 모색하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 한국아동청소년패널조사(KCYPS 2010) 초1패널데이터의 7차년도(2016) 자료를 활용하였으며, 7차년도 대상자는 중학교 1학년이다. 본 연구의 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모양육태도는 공동체의식, 학교생활적응에 유의미한 정적인 영향이 있는 반면, 다문화 수용성에는 통계적으로 유의미한 영향이 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 부모양육태도는 공동체의식을 매개로 다문화 수용성에 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 중학생 청소년이 부모양육태도를 긍정적으로 인식할수록 공동체의식이 높으며, 이는 다문화 수용성을 높이는것을 뜻한다. 셋째, 부모양육태도는 학교생활적응을 매개로 다문화 수용성에 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다만 남학생은 통계적으로 유의미하였으나, 여학생은 유의미하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 공동체 의식과 학교생활적응이 부모양육태도와 다문화 수용성의 관계를 매개하여 중학생의 다문화 수용성이 더 높아지는 것을 의미한다. 넷째, 부모양육태도와 다문화 수용성에서 공동체의식과 학교생활적응의 직렬매개효과를 살펴보면, 남학생은 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 영향이 나타났으나, 여학생은 통계적으로 유의미하지 않게 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 초등학교에서 중학교로의 전환 시기에 있는 중학생 1학년 청소년의 다문화 수용성을 향상하기 위한 사회복지, 구체적으로는 청소년복지와 다문화복지의 함의와 개입에 대해 논하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of parenting attitudes on multicultural acceptance as perceived by middle school students and the multiple mediating effects of sense of community and school adjustment in the process, as well as to explore the implications for improving adolescents' well-being through gender differences. To this end, this study utilized the seventh year data from the first wave of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS 2010), and analyzed a total of 2,001 middle school students, and found the following results: First, parenting attitudes had a significant positive effect on sense of community and school adjustment, but no statistically significant effect on multicultural acceptance. Second, parenting attitudes had an effect on multicultural acceptance through the mediation of sense of community. Third, parenting attitudes had an effect on multicultural acceptance through the mediation of school adjustment. However, it was statistically significant for boys, but not for girls. Fourth, when we examine the serial mediation of community and school adjustment on parenting attitudes and multicultural acceptance, we find a statistically significant positive effect for boys, but not for girls. Based on these findings, we discussed the implications and interventions for social welfare, specifically youth welfare and multicultural welfare, to improve the multicultural acceptance of middle school students in the transition period from elementary to middle school.
