국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 STEAM기반 사진찍기 확장활동이 유아의 창의성 개발에 미치는 효과를 검토하는 것이다. 연구자들은 연구목적 달성을 위해 초등학교 병설 유치원 유아 47명을 대상으로 실험을 실시하였다. 실험에 활용한 STEAM기반 사진찍기 확장활동 프로그램은 연구자와 동료교사 4명이 협력해서 개발하였다. 실험 기간 동안 실험집단의 유아들은 STEAM기반 사진찍기 확장활동을 수행하고, 통제집단의 유아들은 누리과정에 따른 학습활동을 수행하였다. 실험은 4주 동안 이루어졌다. 연구결과는 STEAM기반 사진찍기 확장활동이 유아의 창의성 개발에 미치는 영향은 창의성의 하위 영역에 따라 달랐다. 창의성을 창의적 능력과 창의적 성향으로 구분할 때, STEAM기반 사진찍기 확장활동은 창의적 능력의 일부 하위 하위영역과 창의성 성향의 일부 하위영역에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 발견되었다. 연구결과의 이론적 및 실제적 함의와 후속연구에 대해 제안을 하였다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study was to investigate if extended activities with taking pictures have a positive effect on improving children’s creativity. We developed a program to implemented the idea of extended activities with taking pictures for child education, which included 8 sessions of lesson. To gain the research objective, an experiment was carried out to forty-seven 5-year old children at a kindergarten from a medium sized city in Korea. The experimental design employed in this study was non-randomized control-group pretest-posttest design. Children in the experimental condition engaged in our program for 4 weeks, while the children in the control group engaged in the learning activities suggested by national curriculum for children during the same time period. The results of this study showed that the program has positive effect on some sub-domains of creativity on children, which include creative thinking ability and creative thinking traits. More specifically, this program improved children’s flexibility, imagination, flexibility of language creative thinking skill, continuation and connectivity of drawing creative thinking skill, curiosity, independency, tenacity on task of creative traits. We suggested possible further studies based on this study.
