일상의 창의력 - 그 체제의 요소조직과 실제적 함의

국문 초록

본고에서는 일상의 창의력을 체제적인 구성요소로 모형화해 보고, 나아가 이러한 모형이 내포하고 있는 실제적 함의를 탐색해 보았다. 일상의 창의력은 천재의 창의력과 대비되는 개념으로, 다른 몇 가지 모형에서처럼, 창의력을 ‘새로움’의 수준에 따라 이분법적으로 접근하고 있다. 그리고 일반인들의 일상과 제에서의 창의력을 가리키는 이 개념은 창의력이란 새로움의 수준에 따라 연속적인 것으로 이해할 수 있으며, 창의적 잠재 능력은 얼마간은 보편적이고 개발 가능하며, 그리고 창의의 과정과 구조는 일반적이고 보편적이라 전재하고 있다. 창의력을 가능케 하는 세 가지 구성요소로는 전문가적 역량, 창의적 기능 및 목적적 동기의 세 가지를 제시하고 이들을 논의해 보았다. 전문가적 역량은 기능적이고 높은 수준의 지식, 정보와 경험 등을 습득∙활용하는 능력을 말하고, 창의적 기능이란 창의적인 사고의 방법/기능으로 이들이 창의적 성격으로 뒷받침되는 것을 말하며, 그리고 목적적 동기란 일을 단순히 ‘즐겁고’, ‘사랑하는’ 내재적 수준을 넘어 열정과 집념으로 계속하여 새로운 것, 아름답고 의미 있는 것을 추구해 가려는 목표지향적인 동기를 말한다. 그리고 이러한 모형이 시사해 주는 실제적인 함의를 두 가지로 나누어 분석해 보았다. 하나는 창의적 수행은 구성요소들이 상호의존적으로 상호작용한다는 것으로, 그래서 식역, 요소들 간의 보완과 상승의 시너지 효과 등이 가능해 진다. 마지막으로 창의력 교육은 다양한 경로로 열려져 있다는 것이며, 특히 학교의 교과내용과 창의력 교육을 통합하는 문제를 새로운 이슈로 제기하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to construct the everyday creativity model from the systems perspective and to explore its practical implications. The everyday creativity which could also be termed as the democratic creativity had been defined as the ordinary person’s creative performance for everyday tasks. It usually referred to the gradual changes through ‘betterment’ which could be contrasted with the revolutionary changes of the eminent creativity. And it was also assumed that creativeness could be continuous on the newness/ novelty dimension, creative potentials were general and the creative processes and structures of the creativity could be universal for all. The study identified three structural elements of the everyday creativity including the creative expertise, the creative process/skills and the purposeful motivation. Finally, two practical implications had been examined from the model developed: The creative behavior could be better understood as an interdependent and interactive systematic whole and, further, that the range of the creative education might be expanded through each one or combination of the model elements or through embedding it within the school learning and teaching. Finally the study discussed the issue of integrating the creativity education into the teaching of the regular curricular contents.
