교육대학 부설 과학영재교육원 프로그램이 초등 과학영재 학생의 과학 학업 열정에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 교육대학 부설 과학영재교육원 프로그램이 초등 과학영재 학생의 과학 학업 열정에 미치는 영향을 성별에 따라 조사하였다. 이를 위해 수도권에 있는 1개 교육대학 부설 과학영재교육원에서 과학영재교육을 받는 초등학교 4∼6학년 학생 60명을 선정하였다. 이 학생을 대상으로 과학 학업 열정 검사를 해당 과학영재교육원의 프로그램이 시작되기 직전, 프로그램의 중간, 모든 프로그램이 끝난 직후에 온라인 설문으로 시행하였다. 과학 학업 열정 검사에 대해 검사 시기 및 성별에 따른 반복측정 일원분산 분석 및 반복측정 이원분산분석을 시행하였다. 또한 모든 검사 후에는 일부 학생을 대상으로 과학 학업 열정에 영향을 미친 프로그램을 심층적으로 조사하기 위한 집단 심층 면담을 시행하였다. 연구 결과, 과학 학업 열정의 모든 하위 영역에서 검사 시기별 점수 차이가 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 또한 성별에 따라 해당 과학영재교육 프로그램이 과학 학업 열정에 미치는 효과에서도 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 초등 과학영재 학생들은 자신의 과학 학업 열정에 영향을 미친 과학영재교육 프로그램으로, ‘독서 과제’나 ‘온라인 강좌’보다 ‘토요 수업’, ‘여름 집중 학습’, ‘탐구 과제’를 더 많이 선택하였다. 이에 대한 교육적 시사점을 논하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the effects of university-affiliated science-gifted education center programs on the science academic passion of elementary science-gifted students according to gender. To perform this, 60 students in the fourth to sixth grades of elementary school were selected from the science-gifted education center affiliated with the university of education in the metropolitan area. The science academic passion test was then conducted on the selected students as an online survey immediately before, during, and immediately after all programs of the science-gifted education center began. Repeated one-way and two-way analysis of variance tests for the science academic passion test according to the test period and/or gender were performed. After all tests were over, in-depth group interviews were also conducted with some students to explore the science-gifted education programs for affecting their science academic passion. Analysis of the results revealed that the differences in scores by test period were not statistically significant in all subcategories of the science academic passion test. There was also no statistically significant difference in the effect of the science-gifted education program on science academic passion according to gender. The elementary science-gifted students chose “science-gifted class in Saturday”, “summer camp”, and “free inquiry” more than “reading task” and “online course” as the science-gifted education programs that influenced their science academic passion. The educational implications of these findings were discussed.
