국문 초록

본 연구는 이해중심 교육과정을 보다 효과적으로 실천하는 방안을 탐구한 것이다. 이를 위하여 잘 알려진 백워드 설계와 내러티브를 통합하여 이해중심 교육과정 설계 방안을 마련한 것이다. 이해중심 교육과정은 학습자의 진정한 이해를 강조하는 교육을 추구한다. 이것을 실효적으로 달성하는 데에 최근에 강조되는 백워드 설계에 주목하였다. 백워드 설계는 학습자의 의미를 구성하는 것을 강조한다. 그러나 백워드 설계의 적용 과정에서 나타나는 문제점을 학습자의 삶과 경험의 내러티브를 반영하여 통합 설계안을 마련하였다. 내러티브 방안 역시 의미 구성을 강조하면서 백워드 설계의 단계에 잘 반영될 수 있다. 이러한 통합을 통하여 본래의 이해중심 교육과정의 목적과 취지가 잘 구현될 수 있을 것이다. 현장에서 기계적으로 적용되는 이해중심 교육과정의 실질적인 실천을 위하여 진정한 이해와 의미구성을 강조하는 내러티브와 백워드 설계의 통합은 기존에 볼 수 없었던 실천적 가치를 제공해 줄 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study explores ways to more effectively practice the understanding by design curriculum into instruction. To achieve this purpose, an understanding by design curriculum plan was prepared by integrating the well-known backward design into narrative. The understanding by design curriculum pursues authentic education that emphasizes the learner’s enduring and deep understanding. In order to achieve this desired result effectively, we pay attention to the recent emphasis on backward design. The backward design emphasizes constructing the learner’s meaning making. However, an integrated design plan was prepared by reflecting the narrative of the learner’s life and experience in the process of applying the backward design. The narrative method can also be well reflected in the stage of backward design while emphasizing the construction of meaning. Through this integration, the purpose and purpose of the original understanding by design curriculum can be well realized. The integration of narrative into backward design emphasizing authentic understanding and meaning construction for practical practice of understanding by design curriculum applied mechanically in the field is expected to provide practical value that has not been seen before.
