경와 김휴의 사유방식과 시세계

국문 초록

이 글은 17C초 영남에서 주로 활동했던 경와 김휴(金烋, 1597-1638)의 삶과 사유세계, 그리고 금강산 유람을 통해 창작한 한시 작품을 통해 그의 사물인식 방식을 살펴본 연구이다. 김휴(金烋, 1597-1638)는 여헌 장현광의 문하에서 학문을 수학하여 31세(1627)에 사마시에 합격하였고, 조경(趙絅)의 간곡한 천거로 강릉참봉에 임명되었지만 환로에 뜻을 버리고 학문수학과 창작 저술에 몰두하며 생을 마쳤다. 전통시대에 문자 활동을 했던 선현들은 금강산 유람을 대부분 갈망하였다. 경와 역시 금강산 유람에 대한 기대는 남달랐다. 경와 역시 학문의 완숙기였던 31세에 사마시에 합격하고 그 해 금강산 유람의 기회를 얻게 되었고, 유람의 전 노정(路程)을 한시 작품으로 남겼다. 세 단락으로 나누어, 먼저 금강산 유람에 대한 기대감을 단양(丹陽)에 있는 구담(龜潭)과 도담(島潭) 등 빼어난 경관의 명승지를 지나며 토로하였다. 다음은 금강산에 도착하여 산의 곳곳에 포진하고 있는 사찰과 자신의 시야에 펼쳐진 절경들을 바라보며 사물의 구체적인 면면을 작품으로 표현하였다. 마지막에 명승지와 관계있는 선현들을 회상하며 금강산 유람의 감회를 표현하였다. 그는 가학(家學)과 여헌 장현광의 문하에서 학문을 수학하며 다양한 형태의 창작저술에 몰두하였고, 영남의 저명한 학자들과 교유하며 평생을 보낸 17C 영남의 전형적인 학자이다. 향후, 그가 남긴 유집(遺集)을 좀더 다양한 시각에서 분석한다면 영남의 재지 학자들의 인적 관계망과 문학세계를 분석하는데 일조할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper is a study on the live of Gyoengwa Kim Hyu, who was active in Yeongnam district in the early 17th century, the thinking process and cognition in his Chinese poems inspired by Geumgangsan sightseeing. Kim Hyu(金烋, 1597-1638) studied under Yeoheon Jang Hyeon-Gwang, passed an Samashi examination at the age of 31(1627). He was appointed as Gangneung Chambong with the pressing request of Jogyeong(趙絅). However, he went against his official life and devoted himself to study and create writings. The most traditional sages engaged in writing activities were eager for Geumgangsan sightseeing. Gyeongwa also had a great expectation of Geumgangsan sightseeing. He passed an Samashi examination at 31 when he attained full maturity academically, and had a chance to sightsee Geumgangsan. He left a Chinese poem which contains the whole journey. The poem was made up of three paragraphs. First, he expressed the expectation on Geumgangsan sightseeing passing through beauty spots such as Gudam(龜潭) and Dodam(島潭) in Danyang. And then, in the second paragraph he reached Geumgang mountain. There were temples everywhere and it offered superb scenery. He expressed how they are specifically looking at those beautiful scenery in his work. In the third paragraph, he wrote his impressions on Geumgangsan sightseeing by recollecting the ancient sages related to famous sights. He is a typical scholar who studied under Gahak(家學) and Yeohyeon Jang Hyeon-Gwang and was immersed in various creations, who spent his life interacting with noted scholars in Yeongnam in 17th century. After this, if we look at his posthumous works(遺集) from defferent perspectives, it could be helpful to understand local academic trends and relationships between teachers and students in Yeongnam.
