융합인재교육(STEAM) 기반의 텃밭 활동이 유아의 창의성 및 자연친화적 태도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

연구 목적: 본 연구의 목적은 융합인재교육(STEAM) 기반의 텃밭 활동이 유아의 창의성 및 자연친화적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 통해 유아교육 기관에서 활용할 수 있는 융합인재교육(STEAM) 기반의 텃밭활동의 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 연구 방법: 본 연구를 위해 실험집단 15명(남 5명, 여 10명), 비교집단 17명(남8명, 여9명) 총 32명의 만 5세를 대상으로 12회기 동안의 프로그램 효과를 검증하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 공분산분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 연구 결과: 주요결과를 요약하면 첫째, 융합인재교육(STEAM) 기반의 텃밭활동이 유아의 창의성에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과 창의성 총점에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 창의성의 하위요인인 유창성, 독창성, 제목의 추상성, 정교성, 성급한 종결에의 저항 중 제목의 추상성, 성급한 종결에의 저항에서 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 융합인재교육(STEAM) 기반의 텃밭활동이 자연친화적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과 자연친화적 태도의 총점과 하위요인인 자연친화적 태도, 환경보전의 태도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 이러한 결과를 토대로 융합인재교육(STEAM)에 기반한 텃밭활동의 실천 가능성을 확인하고 향후 현장 적용을 위한 시사점을 도출하였으며, 융합인재 양성을 위한 교육으로 의미가 있음을 시사하는 바가 크다고 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of STEAM-based gardening activities on children’s creativity and nature-friendly attitudes, and to provide basic data on such activities that can be used by early childhood education institutions. Methods: For this study, the program effect during 12 sessions was verified for 32 5-year-olds, with 15 in the experimental group (five males, ten females) and 17 in the comparative groups (eight males, nine females). For the collected data, covariance analysis (ANCOVA) was performed using SPSS 22.0. Results: First, an examination of the effect of STEAM-based gardening activities on children s creativity, showed that they had a positive effect on the total score of creativity. Additionally, it was found that fluency, originality, abstractness, elaboration of the title, and resistance to hasty termination, which are sub-factors of creativity, had a significant effect on the abstractness of the title and resistance to hasty termination. Second, as a result of examining the effects of STEAM-based gardening activities on nature-friendly attitudes, it was found that the total score of nature-friendly attitudes and sub-factors, nature-friendly attitudes, and attitudes toward environmental conservation, were significantly affected. Conclusions: Based on these results, the feasibility of STEAM-based gardening activities was confirmed, and implications for future field applications were derived. It can be seen that it is a meaningful educational tool to cultivate convergence talent.
