수업 공간의 특성과 교육적 분위기에 기초한 실시간 원격 수업의 개선 방안에 대한 탐구

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 대학생들의 경험을 중심으로 수업 공간의 특성과 교육적 분위기에 기초한 실시간 원격수업의 개선 방안에 대해 탐구하는 것이다. 연구방법: 본 연구에서는 D대학교에서 한 학기 동안 교수법 관련 교직과목을 수강한 대학생 12명을 대상으로 질적 접근인 성찰일지 작성과 심층면담을 통하여 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 대학생이 경험한 실시간 원격수업 공간의 특성은 교수자의 관점에서 실시간 원격수업 인프라가 구축된 장소, 네트워크의 안정성을 기반으로 교수매체와의 상호작용이 이루어지는 장소, 학습자와의 비언어적 의사소통이 원활하지 않은 장소, 수업에 대한 다양한 시도가 이루어지는 장소, 학습자의 관점에서 사이버 공간과 물리적 공간으로 구성된 장소, 교수매체 활용 역량을 기반으로 학습자의 교수매체와의 상호작용이 이루어지는 장소, 교수자와의 질문과 피드백이 원활하지 않은 장소, 다른 학습자와의 소통 중심 활동이 원활하지 않은 장소, 자기주도 학습에 대한 다양한 경험이 이루어지는 장소로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생이 경험한 실시간 원격수업 공간의 교육적 분위기는 교수자의 관점에서 실시간 원격교육 인프라에 대한 부담감, 학습자와의 비언어적 의사소통의 어려움으로 인한 소극적 태도, 수업에 대한 다양한 시도를 통한 수업에 대한 성취감, 학습자의 관점에서 시간과 비용의 효율성 면에서 만족감, 교수자와의 질문과 피드백의 어려움으로 인한 낮은 몰입감, 교수자, 다른 학습자와의 소통의 어려움으로 인한 낮은 친밀감, 자기주도 학습에 대한 다양한 경험을 통한 자기주도 학습에 대한 성취감으로 나타났다. 셋째, 수업 공간의 맥락에서 효과적인 실시간 원격수업에 대한 시사점은 수업의 준비 단계에서 물리적 공간의 재구성을 통한 안정감의 교육적 분위기 형성, 수업의 실행 단계에서 교수자와 학습자의 의사소통을 통한 공감의 교육적 분위기 형성, 수업의 평가 단계에서 교수자와 학습자의 교수·학습에 대한 다양한 시도와 경험을 통한 자신감의 교육적 분위기 형성으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구 결과에 기초하여 대학수업 공간의 맥락에서 효과적인 대학수업을 위해서는 대면수업의 물리적 공간과 실시간 원격수업의 물리적 공간의 연계를 통한 수업 공간의 혁신, 대면수업의 물리적 공간과 실시간 원격수업의 사이버 공간의 연계를 통한 교수자와 학습자의 상호작용 강화, 대학수업 공간에 대한 교수자와 학습자의 인식 개선이 이루어져야 한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the improvement plan of real-time remote class based on the characteristics and educational atmosphere of the class space focusing on the experiences of college students. Method: The participants were 12 students who took teaching methods class for one semester, and data were collected and analyzed through a qualitative approach such as writing a reflection journal and in-depth interview. Results: From the instructor s point of view, the characteristics of the real-time remote class space were a place where real-time remote class infrastructure was built, a place where the interaction with the teaching medium based on the stability of the network occurred, a place where the non-verbal communication with the learners was not smooth, and a place where the various attempts were made for the class, from the learner s point of view, a place composed of cyber and physical space, a place where the interaction with the teaching medium based on the learner s ability to use teaching media, and a place where the questions and feedback with the instructors were not smooth, a place where the interaction-oriented activities with other leaners were not smooth, and a place where the various experiences for self-directed learning were made. Second, From the instructor s point of view, the educational atmosphere was found to be the burden on the real-time remote class infrastructure, the passive attitudes due to the difficulty of the non-verbal communication with the learners, and the achievement for the class through various attempts, from the learner s point of view, the satisfaction in terms of time and cost effectiveness, the low immersion due to difficulties in the question and feedback with the instructor, the low intimacy due to difficulties in communication with the instructor and the learner, and the achievement for self-directed learning through various experiences. Third, the effective real-time remote class was needed to formate the educational atmosphere of the stability through reorganization of physical space in the preparation stage of classes, empathy through communication between instructors and learners in the execution stage of classes, and confidence through various experiences of the teaching and learning in the evaluation stage of classes. Conclusion: The suggestions for the improvement of college class were the innovation of the class space through the connection between the physical space of face to face class and the physical space of real-time remote class, the reinforcement of the interaction between instructor and learner through the link between the physical space and the cyber space, and the improvement of the perceptions about class space.
