국문 초록

연구목적: 대학생 내담자들을 다차원적으로 평가하기 위해 개발된 MCCI(Millon College Counseling Inventory; Millon, 2006)를 교육대학교 재학생(이하 교대생)들을 대상으로 교차 타당화하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 전국의 9개 교대생, 2~4학년 672명을 대상으로 MCCI와 8가지 타당도 지표를 실시하여 신뢰도와 타당도를 알아보았다. 연구결과: 척도의 내적합치도와 검사-재검사 신뢰도 모두 양호하였다. 구성 타당도를 알아보기 위해 주성분 분석을 실시한 결과, 5개의 요인이 도출되었다. 수렴 및 변별 타당도 검증을 위하여 MCMI-IV, PAI, PDDS, NEO, IESS, Beck 검사 간 상관을 분석한 결과, MCCI를 구성하고 있는 각각의 척도들과 개념적으로 상응하는 타당도 지표와는 비교적 높은 범위의 정적 상관, 상반되는 척도와는 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 대학생 내담자들을 대상으로 개발된 MCCI를 교대생에 적용하였을 때 신뢰성 있고 타당하게 측정할 수 있고, 교대생들이 호소하는 심리적 불편감이나 다른 정신건강 문제를 탐색하고 치료적 접근을 모색하는데 활용할 수 있음을 시사한다. 마지막으로 이 연구의 의미와 제한점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aimed to cross-validate the Millon College Counseling Inventory (MCCI) (Millon, 2006) that is designed to evaluate college counseling students in a multidimensional manner, with the sample being current students at universities of education. Method: To examine validity and reliability, the study administered eight validity indices and MCCI with 672 of the second- through fourth-year students from nine universities in South Korea. Results: Results revealed the acceptable level of internal consistency and test-retest reliability of scales. The principal component analysis was conducted to determine the construct validity, and five factors were drawn. The analysis of correlations among MCMI-IV, PAI, PDDS, NEO, IESS, and Beck Scales to test convergent and discriminant validity showed relatively high positive correlations between each scale of MCCI and conceptually corresponding validity indices, while negative correlations with conceptually opposite scales. Conclusion: The results suggest that MCCI, designed for college counseling students, can be measured accurately and reliably. Moreover, the study suggests that this can be utilized to explore psychological discomfort or other mental health problems that students face, and as a result, to seek a therapeutic approach. Lastly, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
