미술감상교육 연구 동향 분석 국내 미술교육 학술지 논문(1990~2020)을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 약 30년 동안의 국내 감상교육 연구 동향을 고찰하여 감상교육 연구에 주는 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해 1990년부터 2020년까지 국내 미술교육 분야의 5종 학술지에 출판된 미술감상교육 연구 논문 238편을 수집하고, 출판 연도별, 연구 대상별, 연구 주제별, 연구 방법별 미술감상교육 연구 동향을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 출판 연도별 미술감상교육 연구 동향을 살펴보면, 약 30년 동안 미술감상교육의 연구의 점진적인 증가에도 불구하고 전체 연구에 대한 미술감상교육 연구의 비율은 여전히 약9%에 머물러 있다. 둘째, 연구 대상별 미술감상교육 연구 동향을 살펴보면 ‘인적 대상’을 다루는 미술감상교육 연구가 전체 연구의 약 70%를 차지하였고 그 중 절반이 초등학생 대상 연구에 치우 쳤으며 ‘물적 대상’에 대한 연구는 거의 시도되지 않았다. 셋째, 연구 주제별 미술감상교육 연구 동향을 살펴보면, ‘감상 교수· 학습방법 및 프로그램’이 전체 감상교육연구의 약 59%를 차지하며 연구자들의 압도적인 관심을 반영한다. 넷째, 연구 방법별 미술감상교육 연구 동향을 살펴보면, ‘프로그램 및 도구개발’ 연구와 ‘문헌 연구’가 지속적으로 가장 많이 출판되었고 ‘질적 연구’가 급격히 증가하였다. 따라서 앞으로 더 많은 미술감상교육 연구가 적극적으로 실행되어야 한다. 감상교육 연구의 대상이 다변화되어야 하고 특히 물적 대상을 다루는 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 향후 감상교육과 관련된 제도, 교수자, 평가 등을 포함해 다양하고 창의적인 주제 발굴을 위한 노력이 더욱 필요하다. 교육 현장의 요구를 충족시키는 연구와 이론 탐구를 위한 연구가 균형 있게 이루어져야 하고 질적 연구에 대한 지속적인 관심이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study examines the trend in art appreciation education research in the past 30 years and draw its implications and directions. In this study, a total of 238 articles regarding art appreciation education published in the five Korean art education journals from 1990 to 2020 were analyzed. The finding shows the following: Firstly, the research trend by publishing year shows that the ratio of the research in art appreciation education to total art education research was about 9% although the number of articles in this specific area gradually increased. Secondly, the research trend by research subject shows that the research dealing with ‘human subjects’ accounted for about 70% with a half focusing on elementary school students, while the research dealing with ‘material subjects’ was not rarely attempted. Thirdly, the research trend by research topics reveals that about 59% of the research on art appreciation education focused on the topics of ‘teaching & learning methods and programs’, which reflects the overwhelming interest of researchers in this specific topic. Fourthly, the research trend by research methods demonstrates that articles in ‘programs and instrument development’ and ‘literature review’ were most frequently published and articles in qualitative research increased rapidly. Therefore, we propose that more research in art appreciation education be actively carred out. We suggest that diversification for the subjects of art appreciation education research with a particular emphasis on material subjects. We further suggest investigating diverse and creative topics of art appreciation education including systems, teachers, and assessment. Finally, we propose meeting the needs of the educational field and for theoretical examination be balanced and continuous attention to qualitative research be required.
