초등교사가 생각하는 이상적인 미술수업의 상과 현실적 어려움에 대한 연구*

국문 초록

본 연구는 경력 10년차 전후 초등교사들을 대상으로 심층면담을 통해 그들이 생각하는 이상적인 미술수업에 대해 살펴보고, 수업 운영에 있어서 그들이 느끼는 현장에서의 고충을 탐구하였다. 교사들이 생각하는 이상적인 미술수업은 2015 개정 미술과 교육과정에서 추구하는 방향과 일치하는 부분이 많았다. 초등미술수업은 기능보다 기초개념 및 능력 위주로 지속적인 흥미를 가질 수 있도록 지도를 하고, 학습자에게 자율성을 부과하여 개개인의 개성과 창의성이 작품을 제작하는 과정에 반영되어야 한다고 하였다. 나아가 일상생활과 연계하여 삶 속에서 미술을 보고 느낄수 있도록 수업을 구성하고 싶어 하였다. 하지만 현실에서는 미술과 교육과정ㆍ미술교육의 제반 환경ㆍ미술 지도교사로서의 질적 측면 등에서 한계가 있기 때문에 이상적인 미술수업이 구현되기 힘든 실정이다. 미술수업의 운영과 실제에 대한 교사들의 인식을 기초로 하여 그들이 생각하는 현실적인 어려움과 문제점을 주제별로 분류함으로써 향후 초등미술교육의 개선 및 발전 방향의 기초자료를 마련하였다.

영문 초록

This study will provide in-depth interviews with elementary school teachers with around 10 years of experience. The ideal art class that teachers thought was in line with the direction pursued in the 2015 Revised Curriculum. Teachers say that students should have continuous interest in art. And student’s individuality and creativity should be reflected in their works by imposing autonomy on learners. Furthermore, organizing classes in connection with everyday life make students feel art in their daily life. However, in reality, it is difficult to implement ideal art classes because there are limitations in art curriculum, environment of education, and quality of instructors. First of all, there is insufficient time of art classes in terms of curriculum. Textbook materials do not meet the level of students, and digital materials are not enough. On the environmental side, most of schools don’t have art classroom and a lack of basic art materials and tools. On the teacher s side, self-efficacy as an art tutor is low and there are difficulties in guiding certain areas and units. And some teachers lack enthusiasm as teachers and neglect to prepare for classes looking for various materials. In addition, safety issues and teachers perceptions are not high in appreciating art galleries and museums. Furthermore, National university of education courses do not produce high-quality teachers with expertise. Based on teachers perception of art classes, I want to prepare basic data on the direction of improvement and development of elementary art education by classifying realistic difficulties they explore by subject.
