국문 초록

현대 사회는 데이터가 인간의 행동에 중요한 영향을 미치는 정보 사회이다. 정보통신기술의 발달로 인해 누구나 쉽게 다양한 정보를 얻을 수 있으며, 데이터를 적재적소에 활용하고 결합하여 새로운 개념을 창출할 수 있는 창의적 사고가 중요한 경쟁력이 되고 있다. 이러한 시대적 흐름 속에서 현대 작가들이 데이터를 창작의 재료로 사용하여 예술 작품으로 변형시킴으로써 데이터 예술(data art)이 등장하였다. 창의성 교육 측면에서 서로 다른 영역을 연결하고, 다른 영역에서 유래한 지식을 이해하기 위해 은유가 사용된다. 데이터의 의미를 추상화하여 작품으로 만드는 데이터 예술 활동은 은유적 사고와 관련되며, 이는 학생들의 창의성에 영향을 미친다. 기존의 관련 연구는 주로 데이터의 효율적인 시각화 기술에 초점이 맞춰져 있으며, 데이터 예술의 관점에서 초등 미술 교육에 적용할 수 있는 지도방안은 제시되지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구는 초등 미술 교육에서 적용할 수 있는 은유적 사고에 기반한 데이터 예술 활동 지도방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 데이터 예술 활동은 6학년 미술과 국어과, 수학과, 실과와 연계하여 융합적 교육활동이다. 연구자는 초등학교 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 적용하여 창의성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 국어과, 수학과, 실과의 사전 교과 학습 및 예비 프로그램, 3회기로 이루어진 20차시의 수업으로 구성하여 회기별 수정과 재검토를 거쳐 연속성 있는 실행연구로 진행되었다. 적용 결과 은유적 사고에 기반한 데이터 예술 활동이 창의성의 유창성, 융통성, 독창성에 유의미한 영향을 끼쳤다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Contemporary society may be described as an information society in which data has an important influence on human behavior. With the development of information and communication technology, we need creative utilization of data for educational purposes. To respond to the current situation, data art has emerged from contemporary artists as an attempt to make use of the data to the creation, transforming it into an artwork. Despite the increasing interest in data art in recent years, there is a lack of research in art education. We need detailed instructional strategies for teaching data visualization in the context of data art for an elementary art classroom. The purpose of this paper is to examine how the data art activities based on metaphorical thinking affect the creativity of 6th-grade students. The role of metaphorical thinking is fundamental to giving an original and subjective meaning by abstracting process during the appreciation and expression in the data art activities. This study consisted of 20 lessons of pre-curricular learning and pilot programs in Korean Language, Mathematics, Practical Arts, and art, and consisted of three sessions, revised and reviewed for each session, and proceeded as a continuous action research process. To collect various qualitative data, data art activities were conducted with four students in the 6th-grade of S elementary school. Qualitative data were analyzed according to the three aspects of cognitive dimensions of creativity focusing on fluency, flexibility, and originality. In conclusion, the study discusses the effects of data art based on metaphor toward creative thinking.
