국문 초록

우리는 일상생활 속에서 광고, TV, 인터넷 등의 여러 가지 매체를 통해 많은 이미지들로 둘러 쌓여 있다. 대중매체 시대의 다양한 이미지들은 그들이 표방하는 메시지 이면에 또 다른 함축적 메시지를 담고 있으며, 이러한 함축적 메시지를 적극적으로 찾아내는 능력은 자연스럽게 발달하지 않는다. 본 글에서는 미술작품과 더불어 광고, 애니메이션 등 다양한 시각문화 이미지를 해독하고 그 의미를 비판적으로 바라보기 위해 기호학과 페미니즘의 관점을 고찰해 보고, 이러한 관점에 따라 이미지를 분석한 사례를 제시하였다. 또한 예비교사를 대상으로 한 교육 프로그램을 개발하여 제시하였다. 급변하는 사회에서 매일 넘쳐나는 이미지들 속에서 이미지들을 해석하고, 또한 새로운 이미지를 창조하면서 살아가야 하는 우리들에게 다양한 이미지 해독을 위한 방법은 중요한 생존의 도구라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

We are surrounded by many images through TV, Internet, advertisements and so on in our everyday life. In the popular media age, while images implicate more than message which they are intended to deliver, they requires development of our competence in order to comprehend them. For the purpose of seeing critically the visual cultural images including advertisements, animations etc. as well as artworks this study examined semiotics and feminism as analytic perspectives. Semiotics provides how to approach to the implied meaning and feminism suggests the specific perspectives of what to see. I strongly believed that we are affected by the visual environments, and advertisements and animations are one of the most influential visual cultures. These could affect our thoughts and actions. Finally, I developed the educational program for the pre-service teacher based on semiotics and feminism perspectives. These analytic perspectives present us with privilege with which we could develop our competence to interpret images massively produced in the transforming society and also to participate in the cultural life to create images.
