국문 초록

본 연구는 사회적 유용성 관련 교직선택동기에 초점을 두고 TALIS 2018 조사의 초등교원 자료를 활용하여 초등교사의 교직선택동기가 교직만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등교사의 사회적 유용성 기반 교직선택동기는 교직만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 주었으며, 이러한 영향력의 크기가 다른 변수에 비하여 큰 편이었다. 즉, 사회적 유용성을 기준으로 교직을 선택한 정도가 높을수록 교직만족도가 높은 경향이 있었다. 둘째, 교직만족도에 유의미한 영향을 주는 다른 변수를 살펴보면, 교사배경 중 성별, 교사특성 중 외재적 교직선택동기, 교사효능감, 자율성, 행정업무, 학급특성 중 수업분위기와 교사학생관계, 그리고 학교특성 중 공동체 풍토와 학교위치가 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 남교사가 여교사보다 높은 교직만족도를 보였으며, 자율성, 수업분위기, 교사학생관계, 학교의 공동체 풍토는 교직만족도에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 행정업무 부담이 늘어날수록 교사의 교직만족도를 낮았으며 도시지역 학교근무 교사가 농어촌지역 교사보다 낮은 학교만족도를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 교사의 교직만족도를 높일 수 있도록 다양한 교원지원정책을 수립할 것을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study focused on the motivation for selecting a teaching profession This study focuses on the motivation for selecting a teaching profession related to social usefulness, and analyzes its influence on the satisfaction of elementary school teachers, using data from the Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2018. The main results of this study are as follows: First, elementary school teachers social usefulness-based teaching choice motivation had a positive effect on teaching satisfaction, and the magnitude of this influence was relatively great among all variables. In other words, the higher the degree to which the teaching profession was selected based on social usefulness, the greater was the satisfaction. Second, teacher satisfaction was also significantly related to gender, extrinsic motivation, teacher efficacy, autonomy, and administrative work class atmosphere, teacher-student relationship, community climate, and school location. That is, male teachers showed a higher degree of satisfaction for teaching jobs compared to their female counterparts, and extrinsic motivation, teacher efficacy, autonomy, atmosphere in the class, teacher-student relationship, and school community climate also had a positive effect on the satisfaction of teaching jobs. However, as administrative burden increased, teachers satisfaction tended to be lower, and it was found that school teachers in urban areas had diminished satisfaction than teachers in rural areas. Based on these findings, it was proposed to establish various teacher support policies to enhance teacher satisfaction.
