국문 초록

성리학의 심성론은 그 자체가 도덕교육 이론이며 동시에 도덕교육의 실천이다. 메타프락시스로서의 교육이론은 성리학의 심성론이 ‘정의’하는 도덕교육의 이론과 실천의 의미를 일반적인 수준에서 개념화한 것이다. 주희의 심통성정설은 경전공부 안에서 벌어지는 심성함양을 이론적으로 설명하는 것이며, 그 이론적 설명은 그것이 설명의 대상으로 삼고 있는 심성함양을 실천하는, ‘실천의 실천’이다. 주희의 심통성정설은 유학의 심법전수의 전통을 회복시키고 있다는 점에서 ‘사고방식의 근본적 전환’을 구현하고 있다. 주희가 촉발시킨 ‘근본적 사고방식의 전환’은 조선성리학의 심성론적 전개의 방향을 예고하고 있다. 조선 성리학의 사단칠정 논변은 경전공부 과정에 실재의 자발적 운동이 개입될 수 있는가의 여부에 관한 논의에 해당한다. 정약용의 심성론은 성리학의 심성론이 곧 도덕교육의 이론이요 실천일 뿐 아니라 관념론적 범신론의 한계를 넘어서는 교육이론과 그 의미가 온전히 구현된 교육 실천으로 발돋움할 가능성을 열어준다.

영문 초록

The neo-Confucian theory of human mind-nature(心性論) can be construed as the theory and praxis of moral education, in itself. It defines the meaning of theory and praxis of moral education, and that makes us to conceive the educational thory as a metapraxis. Chu Hsi s doctrine of mind commanding and unifying the human nature and feeling (心統性情) explains the cultivation of the Mind-Nature(心性涵養) in the course of learning Classic theoretically, and its theoretical interpretation practices the practice,that is, the cultivation of the Mind-Nature . In this respect, it can be conceived as the praxis of praxis. It renews the tradition of the transmission of the message of mind (心法傳授), and embodies the second paradigm shift of neo-Confucian theory of human Mind-Nature. The paradigm shift , triggered by Chu Hsi, implies the course of development of neo-Confucian theory of Chosun dynasty. ‘Four-Beginnigs-Seven-Emotions Debate’(四端七情論辨) of neo-Confucianists in Chosun dynasty corresponds to the discussion on the possibility which the self-moving activity of reality might be at work in the course of learning Classic. In particular, Cheong Yagyong s doctrine of human Mind-Nature, human nature as a taste(性嗜好)especially, not only make us to conceive the neo-Confucian doctrine of the human Mind-Nature as the theory and praxis of moral education, but also opens the way in which educational theory overcomes the limitations of Idealistic pantheism (觀念論的 汎神論) and educational praxis fully implements its own meaning.
