고등학교 도덕교육에서 도가사상의 수용과 과제

국문 초록

이 연구는 현행 고등학교 도덕과 교육과정에서 도가 및 도교사상이 해석, 수용되는 양상에 대한 비판적 분석을 통해 향후 통합형 교육과정에 개선 방향을 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 도가사상에 들어 있는 도덕교육적 의미와 원리를 해석한 후, 현행 고등학교 윤리 교과서에 도교 및 도가사상이 어떻게 수용되고 있는지 살펴본다. 현행 교육과정에서 도가사상은 환경 및 생명윤리, 개인윤리, 그리고 사회윤리 영역에서 분명한 원칙과 방향이 없이 분산적으로 수용되고 있다. 도가·도교사상을 보다 체계적인 관점에서 이해하고 이를 윤리적 관점에서 재해석 하고 실천적 함의를 도출할 수 있는 내용 구성이 아쉽다. 연구자는 이러한 분석을 토대로 향후 문·이과 통합형 교육과정 개발에 다음과 같은 과제를 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 교육과정의 측면에서 도교윤리라는 단원에 맞도록 내용의 정합성이 확보되어야 한다. 둘째, 도가사상에 대한 오해불식과 함께 윤리교육에서 도가사상의 의의와 좌표를 새롭게 정립해야 한다. 셋째, 난해하고 모호하게 제시된 ‘도가윤리’의 덕목을 구체화시키고, 도가 및 도교사상을 현대 응용윤리 관점에서 보다 적극적으로 수용할 수 있는 새로운 해석의 프레임이 필요하다. 마지막으로, 새로 도입될 문·이과 통합형 교육과정에서 공통교과와 일반선택 교과들 간의 연계성을 확보해 기초학습과 심화학습이 효율적으로 이루어지도록 교육내용의 조직화가 필요하다. 또한 현대 사회의 윤리적 문제를 도가적 측면에서 접근할 수 있는 통섭적인 주제 영역의 개발이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study aims at examining the status of educational application of Taoism that has been accepted in ethics education and finding several suggestions to introduce renewal of next moral curriculum by critical reviewing on the 2009 revised high school curriculum. In moral eduction, currently, the Taoism is excursively applied to the fields of individual, environmental, and social ethics without any clear interpretation or guidelines. Also, in most of ethics text books, Taoism-related units are lacking contents from which students are available to understand Taoist thought in more systemic viewpoint, reinterpret it ethically. and thus bring about practical implications to moral life. On these reviewing, I suggest several implications to designing next ‘convergent revised curriculum’ as followings. Firstly, the text contents of Ethics and Thought should be written in correspond to the title of ‘Taoist Ethics’ rather than merely Taoism itself. Secondly, it is important to correct some misconstructions on Taoism otherwise likely to bring students to confusions, and set up the new perspectives of Taoism to moral education. Thirdly, the virtues of Taoist ethics should be more concretely defined. And there is a need of new perceptual framework that help students to apply Taoism to reflecting current ethical situations. Finally, in designing new fusing curriculum, it is needed to reorganize the contents of general(common) and optional subjects in way of modification to realize connection of concepts. In particular, moral education communities should efforts to develop convergent themes that highlight currently emerging moral issues in view of Taoism.
