국문 초록

본 연구에서는 청소년들의 스마트폰 이용동기가 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향과 사회적 지지의 조절효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 충남 및 대전에 소재한 고등학교를 다니는 청소년 659명을 대상으로 하였으며, 위계적 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스마트폰 이용동기 중 정보추구 동기는 스마트폰 중독에 부적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 오락추구 동기는 스마트폰 중독에 정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 지지는 스마트폰 중독에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 사회적 지지는 관계추구동기와 정적으로, 시간보내기동기와 부적으로 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소년을 위한 정신건강 증진과 스마트폰 중독예방을 위한 실천적 개입 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The present paper has the purpose of analyzing the effects of adolescents’ motivation for use of smart phone on their addiction to smart phone and the mediating effects of social support. As subjects of the analysis, 659 adolescents were selected from among the students enrolled in high schools in Chungnam Province and Daejeon Metropolitan City and were put to hierarchical regression analysis, which produced following outcomes primarily: First, the motivation for pursuit of information was found to have negative (-) effects upon addiction to smart phone while the motivation for chase of entertainment turned out to have positive impacts on addiction to smart phone; Second, the analysis showed that social support has negative (-) influence upon addiction to smart phone; and Third, social support could exercise positive (+) mediating effects upon the motivation for search of relationship but negative (-) ones upon the motivation for pastime. Based on these outcomes of the analysis, it was discussed to map out practical intervention measures to promote mental health of adolescents as well as to prevent them from becoming addicted to smart phone.
