학령기 중증장애아동의 문화 및 여가활동 지원에 대한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 학령기 중증장애아동의 문화 및 여가활동 현황과 문제점을 살펴보고 이에 대한 지원을 활성화할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고 제안하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 학령기 중증장애아동의 부모를 대상으로 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 실시하여 문화 및 여가활동의 내용과 한계점을 살펴보았다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 도출된 학령기 중증장애아동의 문화 및 여가활동 지원을 위한 정책적 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애유형별 특수성을 고려한 학령기 중증장애아동 문화여가 전문기관의 설립이 필요하다 둘째, 학령기 중증장애아동이 문화여가활동에서 경제적 부담으로 인하여 다양한 문화여가활동을 하지 못하고 있는 상황인 만큼 문화여가를 위한 경제적 지원이 이루어져야 한다. 셋째, 다양한 장애 유형을 고려한 학령기 중증장애아동의 문화 및 여가 전문 프로그램의 개발 및 프로그램 운영 전문가를 발굴·육성하여야 한다. 넷째, 지방자치단체들이 조례를 통해서 장애인의 문화여가활동을 지원할 수 있는 제도를 마련하는 것이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify and suggest ways to support the efficient participation in cultural and recreational activities by individuals with severe disability. First, a preliminary research on current conditions of cultural and leisurely activities available was conducted through an analysis of written records and documents, in conjunction with parents interview designed to fulfill possible research limitation associated with the preliminary analysis and identify essential support required for these students to successfully participate in extracurricular activities. The conclusions of this study are as follows: First, financial aid must be provided. Second, a professional organization especially designed to address particular needs of school-age children with severe disabilities must be established. Third, a facility with an accompanying program that focuses exclusively on cultural and leisurely activities for this population must be initiated. Fourth, the support of local governments must regulate the above through the establishment of an institution.
