국문 초록

학습자의 개별적 특성에 따른 학습이 가능한 플립러닝과 다양한 각도에서 생각하며 사고의 폭을 넓히는 하브루타는 외국인 유학생들이 대학에서 수강하며 겪는 어려움을 해결하는 데 실제적인 교수학습 방안이 될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 한국어 교육에서 학습자 중심의 교수학습 방법인 플립러닝과 하브루타의 적용 가능성을 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 플립러닝과 하브루타에 관한 이론을 토대로 외국인 유학생을 위한 한국어 읽기 수업 모형을 제시하고 이를 실제 수업에 적용하였다. 학습자 설문을 통해 수업의 효과를 검증함으로써 플립러닝과 하브루타에 기반한 한국어 읽기 수업 모형의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다. 세종시 소재 K대학교에 재학 중인 외국인 신입생 23명을 대상으로 한 학기동안 플립러닝과 하브루타 학습에 기반한 수업 모형을 적용해 한국어 읽기 수업을 진행하였다. 학습자 설문은 플립러닝과 하브루타 학습을 수업에 적용하기 이전인 학기초와 수업에 적용한 이후인 학기말에 각각 한 차례씩 실시하였다. 학습자 설문 결과는 비모수 통계에서 대응표본 t-검정에 해당하는 Wilcoxon의 부호 순위 검정을 통해 분석하였다. 사전과 사후 검사를 비교해 본 결과, ‘불안’ 항목을 제외한 ‘자신감’, ‘학습 태도’, ‘학습 이해도’, ‘자기주도성’ 항목에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구는 플립러닝과 하브루타 학습에 기반한 외국인 유학생을 위한 한국어 읽기 수업 모형을 제시하고 이를 실제 수업에 적용하였으며 학습자 설문을 통해 그 효과를 검증함으로써 한국어 교육에서 플립러닝과 하브루타 학습의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study discusses the applicability of Flipped Learning and Havruta as learner-oriented methods of teaching in Korean language education. The Flipped Learning has a great effect on learning away from time constraints, and Havruta considers various angles and broadens the scope of thinking. These theories could be practical teaching methods for foreign students to solve the difficulties they face in college. Based on the previously mentioned learning methodologies, a model of Korean reading classes for foreign students was presented and applied to classes for university students. The degree of success of the Korean reading class was evaluated through learners’ questionnaires to examine the applicability of the class model based on Flipped Learning and Havruta. For 23 foreign freshmen attending K University in Sejong City, Korean reading classes were conducted based on the developed class model during one semester. The Flipped Learning and Havruta Learning methods were used to conduct the survey, one time, at the beginning of the semester and, another time, at the end of the semester after application. The results of the learners survey were analyzed in nonparametric statistics through the code ranking test of Wilcoxon corresponding to the response t-test. Significant results were identified by comparing pre- and post-examination of four questionnaire items: confidence; learning attitude; understanding of learning and self-directed. However, results didn’t show a change in anxiety. This experiment was meaningful in which it presented a model of Korean reading classes for foreign students based on Flipped Learning and Havruta Learning, applied them to actual classes, and verified the effectiveness of the classes through the survey of learners to confirm the applicability of Flipped Learning and Havruta Learning in Korean education.
