초 · 중등 학교급별 과학교사들의 통합과학교육에 대한 인식

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 통합과학교육에 대한 인식의 중요성을 고려하여 초 · 중 · 고등학교 과학 교사를 대상으로 과학교육의 목표와 통합과학교육의 인지, 과학수업에서 가장 필요하다고 생각하는 통합의 방향, 그리고 통합과학교육의 가치 등 통합과학교육에 대한 전반적인 인식을 조사하고 분석하였다. 과학교사들은 과학교육의 목표 중 자연현상에 대한 호기심과 흥미를 가지고 문제를 과학적으로 해결하는 것을 가장 중요한 목표로 생각였고, 초, 중학교 과학교사들은 과학을 일상생활의 문제를 과학적으로 탐구하는 능력, 고등학교 교사들은 과학의 핵심 개념이해를 중요한 과학교육의 목표로 생각하였다. 학교급이 높고 교육경력이 높을수록 통합과학교육에 대해 잘 알고 있다고 분석되었다. 통합과학교육의 방향은 과학수업과 생활과의 연계를, 통합과학의 가치는 과학 지식영역간의 상호 관련성 증대로 인한 학습효과 증가 및 자연현상의 통합적 이해를 중요하게 인식하고 있었다. 이와 같은 결과로 통합과학교육을 담당하는 교사에게 각 과학교과 내용의 충분한 이해와 함께 다양한 통합의 경험이 제공되어야 함이 시사되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the overall perception of integrated school education, including the goals of science education, recognition of integrated school education, direction of integration, and value of integrated school education among primary and secondary school science teachers in consideration of the importance of awareness of integrated school education. Among the goals of science education, science teachers thought that solving problems scientifically with curiosity and interest in natural phenomena was the most important goal, elementary and middle school science teachers thought of science as the ability to scientifically explore the problems of everyday life, and high school teachers thought of science as the goal of science education that is important. It was analyzed that the higher the school level and the higher the educational background, the better one is aware of integrated school education. The integrated school education responded positively to the link between science classes and life in the direction of integrated education, and recognized the increase in learning effects caused by increased interrelationship between science and knowledge areas and the integration of natural phenomena as the value of integrated school education. As a result, it was suggested that the teacher in charge of integrated school education should be provided with various integration experiences with sufficient understanding of each science textbook.
