독서치료에 대한 아동문학의 교육적 활용 방안 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 장애인에 대한 우리의 잘못된 사회적 인식을 독서치료의 범위로 간주하고 그들에 대한 이해를 아동문학 작품을 매개로 바로 세우고자 한다. 아이들은 문학 속에서 장애를 가진 친구들을 만나는 체험을 통해 자기 안에 숨겨져 있던 선한 마음을 찾아내고, 주인공이 당면한 삶의 어려움을 해결해 나가는 모습을 통해 자기 자신을 돌아볼 수 있게 한다. 이에, 고정욱은 장애와 관련된 작품을 통해 장애인에 대한 기존의 편견에서 마음의 벽을 허물고 장애인도 똑같이 행복해질 권리가 있다는 것을 전달하고 있다. 장애라는 것에 대하여 문학의 창을 통해 우리의 틀에 박혀 있는 부정적인 시각을 바꾸고 다 함께 살아가는 존재로 인식해 주기를 바란다. 독서치료 과정에서는 문학 속에 내재된 치료적 측면이 매우 중요하므로 아동이 장애인에 관한 동화를 읽고 주변의 장애인을 따뜻한 시선으로 바라보기를 원한다. 따라서 Hynes와 Hynes-Berry가 제안한 독서치료의 네 단계 과정-인식, 고찰, 병치, 자기적용-을 바탕으로, 실제 활용 가능한 문학 수업 모형을 문학교육에 활용하고자 계획하였다. 이러한 과정 속에서 문학의 본질은 인간에게 위안과 희망을 주고 나아가 일정한 치유의 효과까지 발휘한다.

영문 초록

This study regards social stigma against the disabled in our society as the scope of remedial reading and is to correct it through children s literature. While meeting friends with disability in literary works, children can discover the virtue inside themselves and also look back on themselves as they read how the characters go through difficulties in their lives. To this end, Jeong-wook Koh delivers a message by introducing relevant works that the disabled have the right of happiness just like all of us, and it can be achieved only when we break down our prejudice. I hope that readers can change negative perspective on disability and recognize the disabled as part of us through the window of literature. As therapeutic aspect in literary works is very important in remedial reading, my hope is that a child can see the disabled with a warm heart after reading a story about them. Therefore, it is planned to apply feasible literature class model to literature education based on Hynes and Hynes-Berry s four steps of remedial reading of recognition, contemplation, juxtaposition, and self-application. In this process, the nature of literature can give consolation and hope to people, and further make them experience some healing.
