중·고생의 사고양식 프로파일에 따른 학습전략 및 학업성취의 차이

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 Sternberg(1988)의 사고양식 개념을 프로파일식으로 접근하여 학습자의 사고양식 프로파일에 유형에 따른 학습전략 및 학업성취의 차이 검증을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울시 소재의 4개 중학교와 5개 인문계 고등학교에 재학중인 2700명이었으며, 사고양식 검사지의 측정치에 따라 8개 프로파일 유형으로 분류되었다. 분석결과, 사고양식 프로파일별 학습전략의 차이에 있어서 전략 총점, 인지전략, 노력 및 도움요청 전략에는 학년과 사고양식에 따른 상호작용 효과가 검증되었고 사고양식 프로파일별 학업성취의 차이에 있어 서 중․고생 집단 모두 사고양식 프로파일별 차이가 검증되었다. 이상의 결과를 통해 사고양식에 대한 프로파일적 접근이 학습자의 전략 사용 수준과 성취를 설명함에 있어서 보다 많은 정보를 제공한다는 것을 시사하였다. 나아가, 학습상황에서 교과별 학습전략 사용 수준 및 성취 차이 탐색에 대한 향후 연구를 제안함으로써 교과 특성에 적합한 사고양식의 훈련이나 학습전략 훈련 프로그램의 의의를 논의하였다

영문 초록

This study was conducted to investigate the differences in academic achievement and learning strategies by thinking style profiles. Thinking style profile was classified by combining judicial, global, and hierarchic thinking styles, resulting in 8 different profiles. For this study, 2700 students data were collected from 4 middle school and 5 high school in Seoul. The result of independent t-test on each thinking styles revealed that all thinking style scores for high school students were significantly higher than middle school students. Chi-square test showed there were significant differences in the relative proportion of thinking style profiles between middle and high school students. It was also found that multiple profiles (scores of more 2 styles were higher than midpoint of each score) showed higher degree of usage for learning strategy than other profiles and there were interaction effect by grade (middle and high school) × thinking style profile (8 profiles). In deed, there were significant differences in academic achievement among 8 profiles of thinking style. It was also discussed the practical 8 profiles of thinking style, the relationship with learning strategies and academic achievement, and the implication for designing individualized learning environment.
