국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 대학의 유니버설 디자인 교육 현황 및 제안을 바탕으로 미래교육의 패러다 임으로 유니버설 디자인 교육의 시대적 필요성 및 가능성을 제시하는데 있다. 1980년대 이후 사회 전반적으로 생태학적·친환경적 측면이 강조되면서 디자인은 경제적인 측면뿐만 아니라 소비자, 환경, 그리고 장애자·노약자·여성 등을 배려하는 디자인 정책 및 교육으로 전환되고 있다. 초·중등교육과정에서는 유니버설 디자인 교육에 대한 관심이 확산되고 있는 추세이며, 디자인 분야의 학위 및 학술 논문, 저술 등을 통하여 유니버설 디자인에 관한 연구가 활발하 게 진행되고 있다. 이러한 학술 연구가 활발하게 진행됨에도 불구하고 대학교육에서 유니버 설 디자인 교육과정은 공공디자인, 환경디자인, 서비스디자인 영역에서 부분적으로 교과목이 개설되어 교육이 진행되고 있으며, 전반적인 디자인 교육과정은 체계화되어 있지 않은 실정 이다. 21세기의 창의·인재 양성을 위하여 대학 교육에 유니버설 디자인 교육과정을 적극적으 로 도입하는 것이 시대적으로 필요하다. 연구의 범위는 유니버설 디자인과 교육의 필요성, 유니버설 디자인 교육 현황, 국내 대학의 유니버설 디자인 교육 현황 및 제안을 중심으로 구성하였다. 유니버설 디자인 교육 현황에서 는 초·중등교육과정의 유니버설 디자인 교육 현황을 연구하였다. 국내 대학의 유니버설 디자 인 교육 현황 및 제안에서는 유니버설 디자인 교육 현황을 연구·분석한 후 디자인 인재 양성 을 위한 유니버설 전문디자인 교육과정을 제안하였다. 유니버설 디자인 교육은 세계 시민으 로서의 윤리의식 함양을 위한 필수적인 교육일 뿐만 아니라 전문 디자인 교육에서는 인간을 위한 사회 환원적인 디자인 교육과정으로 중요한 역할을 담당할 것이다. 이러한 유니버설 디 자인 교육은 디자인의 심미성, 기능성의 측면뿐만 아니라 사회 전반에 관한 이해와 연구에 기반 한 융·복합 연구를 바탕으로 세대와 계층, 문화권을 뛰어넘어 ‘모두를 위한 디자인 교육 (Design education for All)’에 활용될 것으로 예상한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to present the contemporary needs and educational potential of universal Design into the future paradigm of education based on the universal design, education status and suggestions of domestic universities. Since the 1980s, highlighting environmentally eco-friendly design aspects, design policies and education are converted into the aspects of consumer, the environment, and the disabled, the elderly, women, etc., as well as economic aspects. Interest in universal design is spreading to elementary and secondary education. Despite the fact that academical researches are vigorously conducted, the introduction of universal design in the curriculum of universities is a very inadequate situation. Specific research on universal design is going through partial studies at the department of industrial design. The scope of this research is organized around the need for universal design, universal design education status in domestic education, educational status of universal design in universities. The universal design education of domestic and international status researched on primary and secondary education. The universal design education status and the proposal domestic universities, we proposed universal education as a specialized universal design education for creative design talents. The universal design curriculum, it is necessary to introduce a convergence curriculum subjects such as civic education for the entire undergraduate majors as well as students of design. Universal design education will play an important role in professional design education of social reducing design curriculum for humans, as well as for fostering world citizenship ethics for ‘design education for all’, beyond generations and cultures.
