하남지역 불교유적에 대한 연구

국문 초록

이 글은 하남지역에서 찾아진 많은 불교유적에 대한 최근까지의 조사와 연구성과를 소개한 것이다. 이제까지 찾아진 불교유적중 천왕사지와 신복선사지, 약정사지 등은 역사적으로 큰 의미를 시사하고 있다. 즉 삼국시대 불교가 수용된 이후에 많은 사찰과 불상이 조성되었으며, 조선시대까지도 불교는 그 역사적 맥을 이어왔다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때 하남의 불교유적이 차지하는 비중은 결코 적지 않다. 특히 천왕사지를 비롯한 약정사지ㆍ신복선사지 등의 절터는 최근 지표조사를 통해 발견되었고, 문헌 기록에도 그 자취가 남아 있어 이 지역의 역사를 복원하는데 큰 도움을 주고 있다. 또한 각 절터에서 찾아지는 석물과 유물들을 통해서 사찰의 창건과 폐사시기를 짐작할 수 있게 되었다. 따라서 이 글은 하남지역의 중요한 불교유적을 바탕으로 하여 한강유역의 잃어버린 고대사와 불교의 역사를 복원하는 데 목적을 두었다.

영문 초록

This article is to introduce a tentative study on many Buddhism remains in Hanam area. In recent years. many Buddhism remains were found in Hanam area. We speculate there will be more vestiges to be found in the same area. Among many ruins that were discovered, places on which Cheonwang, Sinbokseon and Yakjeong temples were constructed give us serious historical meanings. Since Buddhism was accepted during Samguksidae (the historical period when three kingdoms co-existed in Korean peninsula), many Buddhism temples and statues were constructed. Buddhism survived through even Chosun dynasty. In this view, Buddhism remains in Hanam should not be underestimated in their relative importance. Especially special sites where such temples as Cheonwang, Sinbokseon and Yakjeong existed were discovered through surface explorations with their records found in historical documents. As such those temple sites offer a great help for restoring history. In addition, stone statues and other ruins that are being discovered in those temple sites give us some ideas as to when those temples were constructed and destroyed as well. Accordingly, this article will serve to restore lost histories of both ancient times and Buddhism.
