영문 초록

The object of this paper is to evaluate the relationsip of the mothers’ Psychopathological characteristics with their children’s schizophrenic morbidity. Psychopathological characteristics of the cases were measured by SCL-90-R. Above mentioned relationship was tested by the difference between SCL-90-R scales of 77 cases of the mothers of the in-and out-patients of the National Seoul Mental Hospital and the SCL-90-R scales of normal control control group. The results of the test are as follows： 1) Total schizophrenic mothers, as compared! with the control, showed significantly higher scores on hostility, psychoticism, depression, and anxiety. On the contrary, the normal mothers sho-- wed higher score on somatization than the schizophrenic mothers group. 2) Female schizophrenic mothers showed higher scores on hostility, anxiety, and paranoid ideation than the male schizophrenic mothers group. 3) Female schizophrenic mothers showed higher scores on hostility, psychoticism, anxiety, depression and phobic-anxiety than the control group. However, male schizophrenic mothers showed significantly higher scores on depression and psychoticism than the control group.
