대학신입생의 정서적응과 사회적응이진로적응과 환경적응에 미치는 영향 : 학업적응의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생활적응이 단순히 학교생활을 잘하는 것을 넘어서 향후 성공적인 사회진출과 직결되는 중요한 과제가 되고 있다는 점에 주목하여, 대학생의 정서적응과 사회적응이 학업적응을 매개로 하여 진로적응과 환경적응에 미치는 영향을 구조적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 특히 각 적응 영역이 독립적으로 작용하는 것이 아니라 상호 영향을 주고받는 통합적 관계에 있다는 점에 착안하여, 대학생활적응을 위한 통합적 지원 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 학사지도부가 있는 D대학의 신입생 484명을 대상으로 2023년 3월 넷째주 일주일 동안 설문조사를 실시하였다. 측정도구는 정귀연(2020)의 연구에서 활용한 대학생활적응척도를 사용하였으며, 정서적응, 사회관계, 사회활동, 학업적응, 진로적응, 환경적응의 6개 하위요인으로 구성되었다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 26.0과 AMOS를 활용하여 기술통계, 상관분석, 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 대학생활적응의 하위요인들은 모두 평균 3.37~3.86 범위에 분포하여 전반적으로 보통 이상의 적응 수준을 보였다. 둘째, 측정모형 검증 결과 모든 잠재변수의 신뢰도와 타당도가 매우 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 구조모형 분석 결과 학업적응이 진로적응과 환경적응에 미치는 직접효과가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났으며(.523, .478), 모든 경로에서 학업적응의 부분매개효과가 확인되었다(VAF: 46.7%~52.4%). 특히 정서적응이 다른 적응 영역에 미치는 영향력이 상대적으로 크게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대학생활적응 지원에 있어 학업적응에 대한 체계적 지원이 우선되어야 하며, 정서적 지원이 강화되어야 함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 대학생활적응의 다차원적 특성을 실증적으로 검증하고, 각 적응 영역 간의 구조적 관계를 밝혔다는 점에서 이론적 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to structurally analyze how emotional and social adaptation affect career and environmental adaptation through the mediation of academic adaptation in college life, noting that college life adaptation has become a crucial task directly linked to successful social advancement beyond merely performing well in school. Particularly, focusing on the fact that each adaptation domain operates not independently but in an integrated relationship of mutual influence, this study sought to present comprehensive support measures for college life adaptation. To this end, a survey was conducted on 484 freshmen at D University with an academic guidance department. The measurement tool used was the College Life Adaptation Scale utilized in Jeong's (2020) study, consisting of six sub-factors: emotional adaptation, social relationships, social activities, academic adaptation, career adaptation, and environmental adaptation. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS for descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling. The results of this study are as follows. First, all sub-factors of college life adaptation showed above-average adaptation levels, distributed within a range of 3.37-3.86. Second, the measurement model verification confirmed excellent reliability and validity for all latent variables. Third, structural model analysis showed that academic adaptation had the strongest direct effects on career and environmental adaptation (.523, .478), and partial mediation effects of academic adaptation were confirmed in all paths (VAF: 46.7%-52.4%). Notably, emotional adaptation showed relatively strong influences on other adaptation domains. These findings suggest that systematic support for academic adaptation should be prioritized in college life adaptation support, and emotional support should be strengthened. This study has theoretical significance in empirically verifying the multidimensional characteristics of college life adaptation and revealing the structural relationships between adaptation domains.
