This study focuses on the representative musical drama Liu Sanjie, which is rooted in the ballads of Liu Sanjie, to explore innovative pathways for the modern inheritance and development of traditional music. By analyzing the incorporation of Western compositional techniques, choral arrangements, and operatic forms into the musical segments, the research examines the innovative performance forms of the drama, uncovering its rich humanistic connotations and profound artistic expressiveness. Through an analysis of the melodies, techniques, expressive content, and distinctive characteristics of the musical segments, the study investigates how the drama preserves traditional music while facilitating cross-cultural exchange, highlighting its alignment with modern aesthetic standards. This research has practical significance and academic value for the modernization and innovative transmission of traditional music, offering new perspectives and approaches for its theoretical exploration. Furthermore, it provides insights and reference points for the international development and cross-cultural exchange of traditional music, supporting and driving the integration and sustainable development of traditional and modern, Eastern and Western cultures.
