발표 담화에서 한국어 모어 화자와 한국어 학습자의 접속부사 사용 양상 비교 연구: 핵심어 비교를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 발표 담화에서 한국어 모어 화자와 한국어 학습자의 접속부사 사용 양상을 살펴보는 데 있다. 특히 계량언어학의 키워드 분석 방법을 활용하여 한국어 모어 화자 및 한국어 학습자 발표 담화에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 더 많이 사용되는 접속부사에는 어떠한 것들이 있는지를 알아보고 그 결과를 비교해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 국립국어원의 세종말뭉치와 한국어 학습자 말뭉치에서 발표 담화 파일을 추출하여, 한국어 모어 화자 19,725 어절, 한국어 학습자 94,058 어절 규모의 발표 담화 말뭉치를 구축하였다. 다음으로 세종말뭉치의 일상 대화 파일을 추출하여 184,178 어절 규모의 참조 말뭉치, 한국어 학습자 말뭉치의 자유 대화 파일을 추출하여 26,329 어절 규모의 참조 말뭉치를 구성하였다. 이렇게 구축한 말뭉치에서 접속부사의 출현 빈도를 분석한 후, 계량언어학의 G2 분석 방법을 활용하여 발표 담화에서의 키워드 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 한국어 모어 화자는 발표 담화에서 100 어절 당 2.26개, 한국어 학습자는 발표 담화에서 2.27개를 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 두 그룹 모두 일상, 자유 대화에서 보다 발표 담화에서 접속부사의 사용 빈도가 낮게 나타나는 경향성을 보였다. 이는 발표 담화가 문어의 특성을 공유하는 데에서 기인한 것으로 논의하였다. 다음으로 발표 담화에서 접속부사의 출현 빈도 차이는 크지 않았지만 접속부사의 유형 차이는 큰 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 한국어 모어 화자 발표 담화에서 나타난 키워드 접속부사의 수가 14개로 분석된 데 반하여 한국어 학습자 발표 담화에서 나타난 키워드 접속부사의 수는 단 4개뿐인 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 한국어 학습자의 발표 담화 수행에 있어 유창성과 정확성에 부정적 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 한국어 학습자에게 발표 담화에서 접속부사 교육이 필요함을 시사하는 결과이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the use of conjunctive adverbs in presentation discourse by native Korean speakers and Korean language learners. By employing the keyword analysis method from quantitative linguistics, the study aims to identify which conjunctive adverbs are statistically more frequently used in the presentation discourse of both groups and compare the results. To this end, presentation discourse files were extracted from the Sejong Corpus of the National Institute of Korean Language and a Korean language learner corpus. A presentation discourse corpus comprising 19,725 word tokens from native Korean speakers and 94,058 word tokens from Korean language learners was constructed. Additionally, a reference corpus of 184,178 word tokens was constructed by extracting casual conversation files from the Sejong Corpus, and a reference corpus of 26,329 word tokens was built by extracting free conversation files from the Korean language learner corpus. The frequency of conjunctive adverb usage was analyzed within these corpora, and keyword analysis using the G² statistical method from quantitative linguistics was conducted. The results revealed that native Korean speakers used 2.26 conjunctive adverbs per 100 word tokens in presentation discourse, while Korean language learners used 2.27. Both groups showed a tendency to use conjunctive adverbs less frequently in presentation discourse compared to casual or free conversations, a trend attributed to the written-like characteristics of presentation discourse. Although the frequency differences in conjunctive adverb usage between the two groups were minimal, there were significant differences in the types of conjunctive adverbs used. Specifically, 14 keyword conjunctive adverbs were identified in the presentation discourse of native Korean speakers, whereas only 4 were found in that of Korean language learners. This suggests that the limited use of conjunctive adverbs in presentation discourse may negatively impact the fluency and accuracy of Korean language learners. Therefore, the findings highlight the need for explicit instruction on conjunctive adverbs in the context of presentation discourse for Korean language learners.
