리빙랩 수업 적용에 따른 대학생 문제해결역량과 세계시민의식 차이 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 최근 혁신적 문제 해결 방식으로 주목받고 있는 리빙랩(Living Labs)을 대학 수업에서 경험한 대학생의 문제해결역량과 세계시민의식의 차이 변화를 확인하는 데에 있다. A 대학교 학생들은 ‘남북한관계론’ 수업 시간 전반부에 남북한관계론 이론 수업을 듣고 후반부에 통일 이후 발생할 문제에 대한 리빙랩 활동을 실시했다. 리빙랩 활동은 통일 이후 발생할 문제점 발견(1단계) → 문제 원인 도출(2단계) → 해결책 제안(3단계) → 해결책 도출을 위한 실험 설계(4단계) → 실험 설계에 따른 기대효과 제시(5단계)와 같은 5단계 절차에 따라 진행되었다. 본 연구는 리빙랩 활동을 경험한 학생들의 문제해결역량과 세계시민의식 차이에 변화가 있는지를 측정하기 위해 리빙랩 활동 전과 후에 각각 사전 및 사후 검사를 실시했다. 설문 문항은 전문가 내용 타당도 검증을 거쳐 수정･보완하였다. 최종적으로 선정한 문항은 문제해결역량 8문항과 세계시민의식 6문항 등 총 14문항으로 구성되었고 설문데이터는 SPSS 27.0을 사용해 기술통계 및 대응표본 t 검정으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 리빙랩 활동을 경험한 학생들의 문제해결역량과 세계시민의식 모두 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이 같은 결과는 수업 시간에 리빙랩 활동을 하는 것이 문제해결역량과 세계시민의식 증진에 효과적임을 보여준다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 리빙랩 수업이 보다 효과적으로 진행되기 위해서는 다음과 같은 사안을 고려할 필요가 있다. 첫째, 리빙랩의 교육 효과성을 보다 분석적으로 측정할 수 있는 도구 개발이 필요하다. 둘째, 다양한 리빙랩 수업 사례로부터 교육적 효과를 측정한 연구가 필요하다. 셋째, 리빙랩 수업이 기존의 문제중심학습(PBL)과 어떤 차이점이 있는지에 대한 면밀한 연구가 필요하다. 이 같은 노력이 이뤄진다면 향후 리빙랩 수업이 보다 확대되고 교수법에 새로운 방향성을 설정해 줄 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study is to find the changes in problem-solving capabilities and global citizenship awareness who took the Living Lab class at university, which has recently attracted attention as an innovative problem-solving method. Students from A University who took an ‘Inter-Korean Relations’ class learned theories and facts on inter-Korean relations and then conducted Living Lab activities on the problems that will occur after unification. Living Lab activities were conducted according to a five-step procedure such as finding problems that will occur after unification (step 1) → finding the cause of the problem (step 2) → suggesting a solution (step 3) → experimental design for a solution (step 4) → presenting the expected outcomes based on the experimental design (step 5). In this study, pre-and post-tests were conducted before and after Living Lab activities, respectively, in order to measure whether there is a change in the problem-solving capabilities and the awareness of global citizenship of the students who experienced Living Lab activities. The questionnaire items were revised and supplemented after experts in the field verified the validity of the content. The final selected questions consisted of 14 questions, including 8 questions on problem-solving capabilities and 6 questions on global citizenship. The questionnaire data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired samples t-test using SPSS 27.0. From the tests, there were significant differences in both problem-solving capabilities and global citizenship awareness of students who experienced Living Lab activities. These results show that living lab activities in class are effective in increasing problem-solving capabilities and global citizenship awareness. Based on the research findings, the following issues must be addressed for Living Lab classes to proceed more effectively. First, developing a measurement tool is needed to find the educational effects of Living Labs more analytically. Second, a study that measures the educational effects of various Living Lab classes is required. Third, it is necessary to find the difference between Living Labs and existing PBL methods. If such efforts are made, Living Lab classes will be increased and they will set a new direction for teaching methods.
