국문 초록

This study examines the evolution of social discourse surrounding marine leisure tourism in South Korea over the past two decades, identifying core issues and major shifts across distinct time periods. Utilizing text mining techniques, the study reveals that discourse initially centered on neoliberal urban development and economic growth, shaping a development-driven approach focused on marinas and marine infrastructure. Over time, however, the limitations of economically unsustainable facility expansion and heightened competition among local governments emerged, redirecting the discourse towards leisure and experience-centered tourism. In recent years, the discourse emphasizing experiential content and cultural diffusion has changed further, and marine leisure tourism has been firmly established as experiential tourism, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.These shifts indicate that marine leisure tourism increasingly reflects the diverse preferences and interests of various age groups, highlighting its potential for sustainable growth. Based on these findings, the study recommends marine leisure tourism as a strategic growth driver, emphasizing economically viable development, enhanced interregional collaboration, experience-oriented tourism content creation, and consistent policy application to foster sustainable progress.
