조연현 소장 '일문 노트 유고'의 저자 규명 및 그 의미

국문 초록

본고에서는 조연현이 갖고 있던 일문 노트의 저자를 규명하였다. 이 원고는 검은색과 파란색 잉크로 씌었지만, 필체가 동일한 것으로 한 사람의 글이다. 아울러 수정한 부분이 대단히 많은 것으로 보아 창작 원고임을 알 수 있다. ｢불행한 계승｣에 ‘李箱’이라는 저자 표시가 있으며, 등장인물로 ‘箱’이 등장한다. 특히 ‘李箱’이라는 서명은 이상이 다른 작품에서 한 서명과 필체가 같다. 그리고 정인택이 1939년 ｢미로｣에 제시한 이상의 아포리즘이 유고에 있으며, 변동욱이 언급한 ‘爀’이라는 인물이 ｢1931년 작품 제1번｣에 나온다. 문종혁과 변동림은 이상이 노트에 무수한 시를 썼다고 언급했다. 또한 이 일문 유고들은 이전에 발표된 이상 작품들과 내적 상호텍스트성을 지닌다. 이러한 사실을 토대로 조연현이 공개했던 일문 노트를 이상의 육필 원고로 규정할 수 있다. 이 일문 유고는 이상의 육필을 확인할 수 있다는 점에서 가치를 지닌다. 아울러 일문 유고를 통해 번역본의 문제점을 확인할 수 있다. 일문 유고는 이상의 원전으로서의 가치가 있으며, 원전으로 자리매김할 수 있다. 이상 연구의 심화와 확산을 위해 일문 유고 노트의 공개가 필요하다.

영문 초록

In this study, I identified the author of a Japanese-language notebook kept by Jo Yeon-hyeon. The posthumous works, written in both black and blue ink, exhibits a consistent handwriting style, indicating that it is the work of a single individual. Furthermore, the numerous corrections suggest it is a draft of a creative work. The piece “The Unfortunate Succession” includes the author mark of ‘Yi Sang’, as indicated in the posthumous works and a character named ‘Sang’ appears in the narrative. Notably, the signature ‘Yi Sang’ matches the handwriting in other works by Yi Sang. Additionally, an aphorism by Yi Sang, referenced by Jeong In-taek in the 1939 work “The Labyrinth”, is found in this Japanese-language notebook. A character named ‘Hyeok’, mentioned by Byeon Dong-uk, appears in “1931 No. 1 piece”. Moon Jong-hyeok and Byeon Dong-rim have also noted that Yi Sang composed numerous poems in his notebooks. Moreover, these Japanese posthumous works exhibit intertextuality with previously published works by Yi Sang. Based on these findings, the notebook made public by Jo Yeon-hyeon can be identified as Yi Sang's handwritten manuscript. These posthumous works are significant in that they confirm Yi Sang's handwriting. Furthermore, they shed light on issues with existing translations. As a primary source, the posthumous works hold substantial value and can be established as an original text. For the advancement and dissemination of Yi Sang research, it is essential to make these Japanese posthumous works publicly accessible.
